Hey legends, we have been watching some vids! We’ve just arrived in Indonesia. Our anchor solenoid stopped working 3 days in 🤦♀️ Do you have a contact in Sorong who might be able to assist in getting a part or shipping one in? We are heading to the love Lagoon in a couple of weeks. Can’t wait!! Great vids ❤
@mikeferguson2828Ай бұрын
Buy 2 x Cole Hersee type solenoids from a local auto spares shop and fit them to replace your windlass one. Requires a bit of wire changes at the solenoid but this will cost $50 versus $500

Well done on getting back to Oz again. I also sail a smaller (Prout Event 34ft) cat so follow your adventures with interest. I am looking at replacing my old diesel and leg with a single 9.9 high thrust outboard. How often do you motorsail with just one engine? Ta Chris
@SailingTakeItEasy2 ай бұрын
Thanks! We only use 1 engine when motor sailing or even just motoring! We use both engines to manoeuvre the boat out of anchorages or if there’s a strong current/bad weather. So the second engine is there just in case and to swap engines every few hours so it has time to cool down. If you swap to one engine, I don’t know how light your cat is but probably go a bit higher in hp!

@biancacharters8292 ай бұрын
My advice would be that the reason your motor is shutting down is not the oil, but the fuel. Step one change your fuel filter system, make sure you have a system that has a clear bowl where you can see problems developing. Your issue is as you travel the fuel filter blocks even more with pressure when you stop the filter is able to rest and free up a little. There are systems available quite cheap. remove your stress carry backup system that is quick and easy to change plastic is best.

When I talk about which of my tools I'm planning to bring on my boat my welder is always top on the list.
