There is nothing effortless about moving a tennis racket or golf club with speed. This is a myth. Loose is dependent on the speed of the oncoming ball and the speed of the court. Wawrinka’s core could bend steel beams. Does he look effortless? You think Nadal’s forehand was effortless?

Good job on getting to the semi-finals! What was your goal beforehand? Of course it's to win, but what did you realistically expect? It's great to hear your reflection on the matches! How was your reflection in-game? Were you able to make changes to your strategy quickly? I notice during my matches (at a much lower level :) ) it's sometimes hard to make adjustments because I get caught up in just playing tennis and not thinking as much anymore.
@charliepycroft4 ай бұрын
The goal was to be match tough and feel confident and clear, was a big improvement but still lots of work to be done! I think I am much more aware now of the things happening around me and being able to adapt, taking the pressure off of how well I play because playing smart beats everything.

@@charliepycroft Amazing! Are there any specific things that you do regularly to improve on that skill?
@charliepycroft3 ай бұрын
@@niek5370it’s simply putting myself in these situations more that will improve this, along with the use of my towel at the back of the court that I use between points to give me a quick break to process everything happening.

Thanks for the video. A common instruction is to hold the racket loosely. But I would be interested in specific instruction on methods to make sure one is doing so. For instance, might there be a drill or a test to determine if the racket is in fact properly loose? Thnx

@@charliepycroft that's so good to hear because against Lulu Sun,her serve percentage actually dropped to 54% whereas in her previous 3 rounds they were around 70% or above.
