My personal advice is to use excavators to dig the foundation and let the men dress it after excavation works. Manual digging takes a lot of time and a bit costly (you have to feed them daily )

You're correct, using an excavator might be cheaper but keep in mind that you'll still need to hire laborers to finish the job, which will add to the overall cost. In the end , you'll be paying both the excavator and the laborers which could offset the initial savings
