. If I hold down one key, and play other keys at the same time, is there anyway to make the initial key sound not be heard until any other keys that I'm playing are released? Currently if I hold down one key and play others, the initial key sound can be heard... However is it possible to have it not heard until the other additional keys being played are released?

I have a problem resetting my EK-50 piano. I followed the shift + bank +power procedure and the screen shows "Factory preload" but no "no" or "yes". I've been waiting all day and I really need help

Hi Marie, is this what you are trying to to do (EK-50 Manual, page 28 Appendix)? Restoring the EK‑50 to factory default settings - This restores the settings of this instrument to the factory defaults. Note that this will initialize (reset) all of your song lists, user songs and the settings you have made in the SETTING functions. For this reason, any user songs you have recorded or any new set lists you may have made will be overwritten and lost. If you want to keep your user songs and set lists, save the data to a USB flash drive using the MEDIA function (see page 25 “SetListBackUp”, page 25 “Song Convert”). Do not turn off the power on this instrument while it is initializing. If the initialization fails, you may be unable to use the instrument. 1. Turn off the power. 2. While holding down the [SHIFT] button and the BANK/ WRITE button in the SET LIST section, press the power button. “FactoryPreload” will be displayed, and the start/stop button in the STYLE/SONG section will blink. 3. Turn the dial to select “Yes”, and press the start/stop button in the STYLE/SONG section. The initialization will begin. Once the instrument has been restored to the factory default settings, “Completed” will appear in the display. 4. Turn off the power, and then turn it on again.

It's called carry-over.. because of the type of sounds that are selected on that particular set..all sounds don't carry over like that..it's not a malfunction or glitch..

I have a regular Korg EK50 and I have the same issue or even worse. One time I was playin at an event, and the string sound kept playing even when I changed to a different sound and wasn't pressing any key. I stopped the style/rhythm but the string sound kept going. It was very embarrassing. I wanted to beat the crap out of the keyboard at that moment lol. The only solution to stop that sound was to turn off the instrument. I own a lot of Korg Arranger models ( MicroArranger, PA600, PA700, PA900, PA1000, PA 2X, PA 3XLe, PA 4X) some Roland Arrangers, Yamaha's Tyros 4 and of course its top current arranger: Genos, but I've never ever had any issues like the one I experienced with the KORG EK50. Im glad you found a solution that kind of worked for you or made it less noise. Me on the other hand, put that ek50 to Rest In Peace somewhere in the basement.

Breakthrough! I found a "clue" to the smooth sound transition issue with the Korg EK 50L in a old Korg community discussion. Someone was having the same issue with their pa4X. They mentioned something about effects. At the church tonight, I experimented with changing the effects for buttons #2, #3, and #4 (Shift + Effects, chose effect 141 and added Dark Pad to #2, #3, #4 buttons, adjusting the volume to match #1 button). I'm able to move from button to button with one sustained sound now and the sustained sound carries over nicely from one button to the next! God is absolutely good :)

Hi Lachelle, I just ordered the same keyboard based on positive reviews. I wanted to know if you have found a way to resolve this issue. I guess Korg could easily fix it in a future update. Have you tried reaching out to them? Thanks.

SEE MY UPDATE COMMENT ABOVE! Thanks for asking. My nephew contacted Korg support for me since this was a gift from the church and he was the one who ordered it. They advised the following: This feature you are speaking of is called Smooth Sound Transition and is not available on the Korg 50L. The Korg keyboards that have the smooth sound transition feature are the Kronos 2, Grandstage and Wavestate. I was quite disappointed to hear this. During our worship services, I try to transition to the next preset button as quickly as I can but there is still an uncomfortable gap of silence in between. I do love the crisp sounds of this Korg though. Perhaps if enough users contact Korg, they will update the software?
