Why wouldn't you just take off the old treads and put new ones on
@Backyardprojectguy

the old treads were 2 inches thick, the new one were 1 inch..Just another opticle.

No no no, never use nails. Drill, screw, & glue dowels with grain oriented in the correct direction. Then trim them and light sand!

00:53 "went to American Standard and bought this one"! No need to buy a seal. American Standard will ship one to you for free. All you need to do is call and give them the approximate date you installed the toilet it and model number off on the label found inside the tank.

@@Backyardprojectguy In my original comment I should have included the caveat "providing its still under warranty". In regards to the Champion 4 the warranty states: American Standard Champion Cadet 4 toilet comes with a lifetime warranty on chinaware, a 10-year warranty on all mechanical parts" I told the customer rep I removed the tank during my quest to find the leak so along with the flapper seal... they even sent me a new tank to bowl gasket all at no charge!

Great video. Could you let me know why you needed risers? Couldn't you just paint the vertical surfaces after cutting the original bulnoses? It seems that with the treads you've installed, they would have covered the top of the vertical planes where you had most of the staple holes. Than you.

Just want to make the steps look better, as part of us wanting to do the basement over.

The bottom step is going to be too high because of the new tread over the old tread. The top step is going to be less. It will be a tripping hazard.

Just did mine with genuine Symmons parts, and hot water only comes out warm.. reinstalled the old valve and same thing.. Got any ideas on what could be wrong? I adjusted the hot water screw stop all the way out and no change after I reinstalled the new valve again.
