I have a question for you because you are also a birder: I recently returned to Nelson from Victoria, where I enjoyed listening to all the various songbirds in the morning, to find that there are no songbirds - none in my yard and surrounding area nor any on my walks ( chickadees…….etc) why do you think this is. Please don’t say we are in for an early, harsh winter 😭

Nice job! If you want to catch fish consistently at Erie you will want to fish near shore over weeds. Anywhere from 3-15 feet of water above the weeds is a great range to fish. I've caught 5 species in a day in that depth range. The fishing over deep water can be amazing but is less consistent.
