Yeah, you go straight down Opal road then turn right when you can’t go any further. There is usually a trail through the snow to the lake there.

Fish this lake last week and there was a pile of dead / spawned out Kokanee all along the shore. Tons of big schools of bows but none would hit just follow. Almost like the rainbows were going through a false spawn. There was some huge rainbows in that lake 20 inches +

Love your videos! Used to do some fly fishing myself in Alberta when I was younger with my grandad. I have a question for you because you are also a birder: I recently returned to Nelson from Victoria, where I enjoyed listening to all the various songbirds in the morning, to find that there are no songbirds - none in my yard and surrounding area nor any on my walks ( chickadees…….etc) why do you think this is. Please don’t say we are in for an early, harsh winter 😭

It could be that some sort of predator has moved in and scared the birds away from your area. Maybe Merlin falcons.

@kootenaycasting3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! It sure is a lot of fun. Considering that it had snowed six inches the night before, the road was alright and was not too icy. However, several trucks had already gone in ahead of us.

Nice job! If you want to catch fish consistently at Erie you will want to fish near shore over weeds. Anywhere from 3-15 feet of water above the weeds is a great range to fish. I've caught 5 species in a day in that depth range. The fishing over deep water can be amazing but is less consistent.
