I’ve owned a crosstrek wilderness since November and put over 15k miles on it. It’s not only been flawless but the headrests got softer and the mpg improved over time.

Good info, never thought I would reach a point where Subaru’s would appeal to me but at 56 I think I would like any of the Outback’s, Forrester or this. I’m looking at one as a daily driver that would be suitable for some car camping. A few years back when I test drove an Outback what struck me was that it was the perfect height while getting in it…lol. Not to low like my lowered mustang gt that I had at the time and not to high like my current Jeep wrangler. Our needs change with age.

Exactly! The WRX was amazing but not practical at this point. Maybe I can get a project car to tinker with in the future.

What are u running for preload? Trying to dial my f specs in, I set it to the recommended preload but they are still very bouncy
@MrCliffWorksАй бұрын
It's been so long that I'm not 100% sure. I would load to 4mm to start and set the damping 1/2 way. Adjust until it's just barely harsh and bouncy...back off the preload 1mm to remove harshness. Then, Adjust damping to take the bounce put. Hope that helps. 👍🏻

@@MrCliffWorks thanks man! I’m gonna give that a shot.

How do you find the ride quality on these? I have them on my WRX with summer tires and it still rattles my teeth over bumps, any suggestions?
@MrCliffWorksАй бұрын
I just traded it in but they ran pretty good but one of the front adjusters seized up. It was set pretty good though. High spring load will cause harshness. Lowering will cause severe bump steer. Damping will absorb bumps and remove bounce. If you're lowered, I would recommend roll center relocation kit for your front end. That helped me out a lot with bump steer.

How many feet away is the post from the foundation of your house? new sub here.
@MrCliffWorks2 ай бұрын
They're gone now but they were at least 10 feet from the house except where the angled section of the house is. We didn't want to risk damage to the house if we got a freak wind storm. Well probably go with a good hard covered gazebo next time for use more of the year and in rain.

You aren’t supposed to wrap the actual catalytic converter…. You can wrap starting with the pipe section after the bulges. Can cause it to overheat and burn your catalytic metals. I did this as a preventative before installing upgraded downpipes and midpipes

@@MrCliffWorkshow have the red pressure relief buttons held up for you ?
@MrCliffWorks2 ай бұрын
@GY6SCOOTERCHAT yes. If yours does not, the sealing seat inside the bleed valve (red button) may have debris. Try shutting the water off, remove the filter, hold the button down and flush some water into the valve and pull/push ot a few times and try again. That may clear ot out. If it doesn't close at all, the spring may be defective in the valve. You'll have to contact the manufacturer for help.

What are the holders for the poles and how are they secured to the concrete slab?
@MrCliffWorks3 ай бұрын
We got those brackets from Amazon (I would not recommend this brand). We drilled into the concrete and used concrete anchors. If you're going to build a structure, use the thickest gage metal brackets that you can afford. Also, make sure all posts are supported with cross beams. We had to take ours down because we didn't do that and bent the brackets beyond use after a couple months.
@ggoebel62032 ай бұрын
The wind will rip it apart. Polls should be at least 3 foot into the ground. Concrete it in and preferably leaning away from the ShadeCloth at a 20% angle. **Beware attaching it to the house,Unless it’s securely attached**
@MrCliffWorks2 ай бұрын
@ggoebel6203 We definitely learned our lessons with that project. The posts are now our first garden planter 😆 our biggest fail was not using cross members. That would've at least spread the load and saved them for a couple years.
