John Mayer is definitely a musical genius. I think it is clearly quite common for people who are incredibly talented in one area of life to be somewhat lacking in other areas. And perhaps "lacking" isn't even the word...but what is clear is that John Mayer comes across as a bit of an odd ball in the vast majority of interviews

Sure did. He stifled a laugh after he said it too. The audience seemed to not notice or let it go by, but I laughed when he said it.

I think John has a level of respect for Jack because he is able to hone his skill without feeling so insecure or uncomfortable enough to say things he'll regret...like John often unintentionally does.
