Paicey showing no signs of slowing down! Gillan on the other hand, I applaud him for trying but man, ain't he struggling... Damn, when was the last time they ever performed Hard Lovin' Man?!

Nice live performance! There are some comments about how Gillan can sing this type of songs at his age. Well of course he can't really sing them - but we love him anyway. It has been the same thing with the singers in AC/DC, Aerosmiths, Bon Jovi, Wigwam and the Scorpions - to name a few. :-)

Don’t understand why these guys they don’t play smaller venues where the sound is better. Gillan bless his heart cannot sing in big areas anymore. Come on guys come on.These promoters and managers blood suckers money machine keep pushing and pushing for more

For BananaAlert. From now on, for Ian Gillan, the band should be content with studio sessions and concerts in clubs with the more conveniant conditions. Outdoor festivals are too hard. Ian Gillan likes a lot the contact with the public and he isn't lucid about his aging voice. He was the voice of rock since the magnificent "Sweet Child In Time" (Deep Purple In Rock) but now the extraordinary producer Bob Ezrin is the solution : " Infinite", "Woosh" and now "=l". No sadness earing these records for now. But after?... 😭

I love DP since 1980. It's sad how Gillan is struggling singing. Anybody at 78 is most vulnerable to often getting a cold, a flu or some virus. He is the trade mark of the band and the show must go on. He sung at over 3000 concerts, and on all studio albums. I wish them well.

According to Georgie Fame, Mitch Mitchell was a major fan of, & was influenced by Ronnie Stephenson, an Elvin Jones-style jazz drummer in Johhny Dankworth's jazz band. Mitch said that, whilst brainstorming & experimenting for their first album, "Are You Experienced", they listened to Dankworth's 1961 recording, "African Waltz", kzbin.info/www/bejne/pXjZmHt7jcxkfdk (When you listen to it, you might recognize that they got more than just a drum groove from that song. Enjoy ; )

So cool to hear this. One of my favorite Hendrix songs (this one and Love Or Confusion), and he gets nearly the exact same guitar tone he got on the LP. The recording is pretty good for an audience one from 1968. Enjoyable. Thanks so much for posting bit of music history.
