Lord, have mercy! I didn’t know this pot of black-eyed peas was going to be that good. Just made it for dinner tonight (used canned peas) along with some corn muffins and followed the directions to the T. Never tasted black-eyed peas that tasted THIS good before.

I’m navajo but have never referred to this bread as Navajo Fry Bread. We’ve always just said fry bread. My brother uses a different recipe and adds an egg. My version, i add dry milk. I only make them 4-6 times a year. With my kids, they disappear within an hour. And i make a big bowl of them. 😋

I just made these with fresh blueberries. I followed your recipe to the T except I did not have buttermilk or whole milk so I used coconut milk...yumm.... and made 6 jumbo muffins....they came out so great and moist. Thank you for your recipe. I enjoyed them! This is definitely a keeper....

Brown sugar, to keep it fresh don’t use bread. Use marshmallows. Much better because sometimes the bread gets stale and might break apart into the sugar. Marshmallows stay fresh and whole.

Please don’t ever ever use Water in any kind of box cake mix always use milk instead don’t use the oil whatever amount of oil it costs for just double it and use butter Instead
