Trump , if elected, should do more for bicycle infrastructure but that's usually a state or municipal thing. He did a good thing but now he distances himself from bicycles ,probably because they are not compatible with " big- oil " aspersions.

The first time I did Mt Diablo that last 15% section absolutely killed me (especially after the Devil's Elbow). Every time since then I have kept enough in the tank for that last part.

Great info, making the excess sweating stop within 2 days was so much more than I expected, I went with what I talked about last week and after the first day or so I was very surprised to start feeling much more comfortable and dry! I went ahead and go'ogled Cynthia Yulesin’s Stop Sweating Today and after 72 hours I now sweat like a “normal” person lol

Hello Joe, Of all the Mountain Bike founding legends, I've always liked you and Gary Fisher the most. Why? Cause both of you were always down to earth. Two things I clearly remember about you & Gary is you (Joe) coming up to me and introducing yourself at a Mammoth mountain bike event like I was some one well known. I was so embarrassed when you said you were Joe Breeze. We hung out for hours hiking up the Kamikaze course talking about mtb designs and all kinds of neat things... You were and still are well grounded and down to earth human being... Same with Gary Fisher, I would show up at a trade show in Taiwan or Long Beach and before show opened to the public he would see me and whisk me away to give me a private introduction to his latest innovation and ask for my opinion... Afterward he would open his briefcase and insist I join him to eat some of his variety of Special Junk Food (Twinkies, Almond-Joys, etc) that only very special friends could look thru his briefcase and have. I sure miss both of you. Sincerely, Dan Sotelo

I've been esssentially dirty keto for the past year, with fairly low levels of activity. I managed to lose some weight, then regained some. Now, I'm about to get back into biking on the regular and am starting to question whether keto is necessary if a person can lose weight through regular biking. Not long-distance bicycling, just a few miles between work and home. The last time I rode miles to and from work was the best shape of my life, though I ate way more carbs back then and not always the good kind, either. What is the point of the keto diet for even the most moderate level of bicyling, if the very act itself requires more carbs to fuel the workout?

Losing weight from cycling isn’t very good. That’s been my intent for the past 3 years, even after a 4000 mile year, I hit a plateau…. I’m convinced now w eight loss is mostly based on diet.

Bought from TPC last night; as my n+1 previously "to-be" was on order request since October 2022 but no hope of being delivered until July of 2023. Heard about TPC from a friend and lo-and-behold my dream N+1 was on there! But in one size up from what I usually ride. Which happened to be okay with me since my two bike fits within the last 12 years happened to place me at a small or small/medium in the bike fit category. But during the time i was in the mode of the era of having a longer effective seat post so I went with a small frame. I'm no longer a racer guy, as im a dad now with just fun-out with friends style riding. Anyhoo, enter TPC for the win. ...im still going to support my LBS, but now i got another option for n+1 as well.

Absolutely, bikes need repairs, accessories must be purchased, rides need groups, and friends need to be made. The LBS has a sacred place in our hearts, but. It is always the best deal.

I always wondered, how usable were the earliest bikes that had no bearings, no suspensions and had to roll on at best dirt roads or pavement roads. i am curious to know if you have any information and knowledge on this usability aspect. This video is quite informative about one of the most ubiquitous, practical and fun device till today, thank you!!

I just returned from Girona. I was not cycling this time but will do next time soon. I live near Nice, France so I will drive with my own bike. ESC and SC are different. The ownership has different objectives. Do your research. Don't forget BikeCat for tours. Do your home work and of course good and courteous service is important especially in a strange town. I was there at Christmas and only ESC was open. They were great, even my wife like it.

I like the Rapha clothing for the quality and style isn't so bad. But that seems to be taking a turn. As for the membership, even if it was $35 it wouldn't be worth it because that's about what that cap cost. In my opinion it is just a gimmick.

I showed up at the Tour de Santa Ynez to race (Cat. 3) sometime in the mid ‘70’s. And there’s this kid racing as a Junior in the featured Cat. 1 & 2 (Seniors) event. And he was AMAZING! I can’t recall if he won. But it was very clear he would be competing among Europe’s best sooner rather than later. Damn that hunting accident!

I put myself in ketosis in 2020 for better endurance. Took about 6 weeks to adapt to long rides without fuel. And I was living in Kona at this time. 6 hours on the bike. Run afterwards. Not hungry until after run. Really difficult for first few weeks. Felt like crap. No energy. I didn't lose any weight. Was already very lean and fit. No underlying health conditions either.

I had to jump of the trainer on this keto and I was just in zone 2. I will jump off this diet ASAP! Struggling to hold 236-280 watts which is zone 2 for me. I don’t feel hungry but I don’t have any power to smash out the easy zone 2.
