Harper Magazine’s publisher Lewis Lapham did a film where he asks two elite college graduates wearing their caps and gowns, “Now where do you go from here?” In another film called The Corporation, the same point about corporate CEOs being psychopaths is made.

This should be taught in all public schools if we want the future generations have good life on this planet for all and not just for rich people. People follow celebrities blindly which is extremely sad. People don't use their own intelligence to analyze information and come up with solution which is good for all.

One of the major flaws of party systems is that you have to vote for a whole basket of policies in order to get the few you actually want. Do away with the whipping system (so beloved of Kier Stalin) and allow free votes on EVERY vote.

Capitalism was successful because of the creation of the White Race. They were created to serve the capitalists; divide and conquer all the way to the bank.

The fundamental problem with present systems is the power invested in anyone who has lots of money. The rich are utterly unanswerable to universal conscience. They have power over others simply because they are rich.

Were those graduates in 1980s who were selfish and didn't care, Baby Boomers? Is there a generational factor here? Were they indoctrinated, misguided? Did this produce a cancerous culture that dooms the babies to a worsening future? A #BabyDoomerism culture?

It’s not only about specific movements like ER having staying power beyond the momentum of one wave cycle. It’s about being the grassroots swell behind the wave. Namely that we learn to function organically again as larger, more connectively dynamic and integrated communities within society, so that our mass is inexorable. One wave seldom destroys the sea wall. A high tide may engulf it over a period of hours. A series of storms will inevitably erode it. Like Bruce Lee said, “Be water!” We must learn that we’re more than atomised water droplets. We’re part of a much larger whole that is alive and growing in consciousness. We are the planet.

❤ I love that the moderator sent the mike back to the guy who left his job in the city to join extinction rebellion. I love the moral integrity he had to say it was privilege that enabled him to do this and that he wouldn’t be able to look his kids in the eye in twenty years time otherwise 😇😍

Re 40min 05sec and your comments about Finland. You extoll performance of Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin. Really? How on earth do you reconcile Marin’s position vis-à-vis Russia and her taking Finland into NATO given the fake propaganda about history of Ukraine regime change in 2024 Maidan Coup and NATO expansion since 1991 contrary to promises made by USA and Germany not to expand NATO eastward??

We born socialists in groups of people, families, communities that care about each other, works with each others and helps each other. In Africa, Asia and some other places, family values and community values are still stronger than the individualism and selfishness of the West who are not only destroying family values but also destroying anybody who thinks critically and have strong morals, values or faith 😢

another intentional misnomer by the right. neo"liberalism" isn't left wing at all. Funny how the right don't want to claim ownership of their fascist philosophy.

Can one utilize this method with fruit like persimmon and plum.. and store these pots of seeds till germination in a greenhouse? Would a barn work with little to no sun coming in?

The only way to achieve profits and wealth, is by successfully providing humanity with what it wants needs and demands. You are literally demanding that people refrain from proving humanity with what it wants, needs and demands. Placing a "wealth cap" prevents growth. A grocery store uses profits to create more grocery stores. You are demanding a cap on grocery stores. How much money do you think Elon Musk had to spend to purchase Tesla? A wealth cap would have made Tesla impossible. It wouldn't exist. Nor would Amazon, Google, KZbin, Apple, Ford, and a million other companies. Never take advice on economics from a socialist.

Maybe ‘capitalism’ is not the problem, but the fact that the price of goods and services is not calculated fairly and properly. Costs of common goods (resources) and pollution etc are largely ignored. Thsi should be corrected in some way or another. Which will not be easy.

I don’t understand what the point of saying he isn’t a communist. Why say that? How does that forward the conversation or help his argument? It was probably a way to appeal to the less radical like many neoliberals do but why make the appeal when you are now creating a wedge between the radical and less radical from the start.
