Igualzinho no Brasil. Por isso que nós brasileiros estamos vivendo muito bem. Aqui a gente paga um imposto bem pequeno em tudo. Gasolina barata demais, batendo 6,23 na minha cidade. Leite batendo 8 reais e por aí vai. Bom demais, moço. Somos tão felizes! Até pq, como não ser feliz dando tanto dinheiro pra o governo, não é verdade?

Of course it is! I did that. The INBDE is NOT required for you to work as a dental assistant. I would start knocking on doors and dropping your resume!

There are PLENTY of opportunities for international dentists. However, it is very important for you to speak English to maximize your salary. I know a lot of people who can do the job well, but do not speak English well, therefore, they are limited in their growth. I see assistants making anywhere from 18-30 per hour, based on location where they live and experience.

I am a student who will go to university but I am not American. I am researching dentistry schools. I heard that Yeditepe University in Istanbul has just received Coda accreditation. I am curious about the path to work as a dentist in America after graduating from this university and I am curious about the differences between this university and other universities that do not have Coda accreditation. The university I mentioned is not in America. Will this create a deficiency? Thank you very much.

That's a great question. Technically speaking, if it is a CODA accredited school it should fulfill one of the requirements to get a license. However, I would strongly suggest for you to work to learn English, as it will be important for your success here.

Hi, this is a very specific question related to the dental board. I would contact the California Board of Dentistry to find the final answer. As a rule of thumb, if you have the proper documents and are legal in the country, you should be able to get a license, however, the student visa may play a role.

hi Doc, thank you so much for the video! i'm a foreign-trained dentist who wants to seek a job as a dental assistant (unlicensed) before taking the advanced standing program. i have a question: in order to get a job as dental assistant (unlicensed) in NYC, do i need to take courses like CPR/ xray courses? i can't find any information about unlicensed dental assistant anywhere, not even on the DANB website, and i've also called the NY dental board, they only provide information for registered dental assistant, so hopefully i can get the answer here, and really need your advice on what step should i take first to work as an unlicensed DA, thank you in advance!😊

That`s a great question. Each state has a specific rule and I don`t know the details about NY,. However, as a rule of thumb, having CPR and x-ray certification is always helpful, as this is a time and financial commitment that will save future employers from having to do additional things. If I were in your shoes, I would apply for the jobs being upfront about not having done the dental assistant course in the USA. Even if not allowed to assist chairside in NY, many times there are positions that are not directly seeing patients, where you can work while you obtain your certificate.

Sim, mas você também vai ver bolsas que são chamadas de scholarships ou awards. O stipend em geral, é um pagamento regular, ao invés de uma única vez.

That is a great question and a possible option for some people. In fact, I have a few people in my own course that did it. There are several dental school in the US, however, not all of them accept students for the Advanced Standing program. Therefore, to go on the shorter route, you would have to apply to a school that has an AS program.
