If you look abstractly enough he’s got a point. People who ride less than 5 days a year should realistically be on a $400 board, $250 bindings and $200 boots if they’re buying brand new. It’s the gear that fits their skill level and requirements. Sadly we live in this keeping up with the Jones’s world, and they all want the cool stuff. So they’re dumping $1,400 on their set up when the quality of the product and the skill level of the rider do not match that price.

This guy is full of shit. Shaun isn’t “core” because he spent decades being a complete dick to other riders, fans, media, ski resort staff, hotel staff, etc etc. He is a victim of nothing but his own poor behavior and lack of character.

The only real un accessible part of snowboarding i see is lift ticket prices. If u don't buy a season pass and go 15+ times a year i can see how most people would be priced out with the prices of lift tickets these days.

So many good deals to be had on facebook markets place. Ive picked up a handful of $800 boards only ridden a few times for 300. Thats how i save money on snowboarding.
