🤣 definitely not on shape Billy, yeah got the car down to them. But of a pull getting them down and kver the burn too. .243 Tikka T3, 100 grain federal. Only about 80 yards. All heart shot. He's a great shot with that and his shotgun. Not an easy position to shoot from either. Thanks again for the support 🙏

Absolutely tremendous. Been waiting a long time for some stalking! Excellent composure from the wee yin, not many kids nor adults get a treble on deer well done. The wood definitely helping you to confuse them as to where the shot was coming from. Be some good eating. That cold NE wind hasn’t been helping us any good at all in Pershire
@scottishoutdoorlife2 күн бұрын
I thought you'd appreciate that. I know you've been waiting a while on it. I'll try to do some more this year. Yeah between the wood and the moderator, they weren't sure at all what was happening. Thanks for your support 👍

Hello there… my mate and I were fishing the other side on 7 June and thought it was you who caught a salmon between The Bleachings and Girnel? At same time I was playing one out of Gellyburn and managed to land it. Fresh fish at estimated 13 pounds. Had one day before from Hummel Hole at around 10 pounds. All on spinner as was a bit windy for fly from right hand bank. Nice seatrout from Girnel yesterday. Season picking up a little!🤔
@scottishoutdoorlife3 күн бұрын
Hi, yes it was me. Well done on your fish. I had mine on a silver 28g Toby. What were you getting yours on. A few more fish coming into the system now by the looks of it. Hopefully the water stays lower,we'll get a better go at them if it does.
@k02atkinson33 күн бұрын
Think we were speaking to your dad walking the dog on the other bank as well? I got all mine on 20g black bodied flying C. Lost a few as well - couple of seatrout at ferry crossing and suspected salmon at The Neck.
@scottishoutdoorlife3 күн бұрын
Yeah he mentioned he was speaking to you. I had 4 sea trout and a couple of brownies on and off. Pretty sure I had an offer from another salmon in the girnal.

Is sinking tip enough for roughly that height of water?
@scottishoutdoorlife6 күн бұрын
Hi, yes it's more to do with temperature of the water. The water temps over about 56 degrees now so sink tip is plenty. If your in a really fast pool a heavier tip is handy to slow the fly a bit. Thanks for watching

Nice to see the smolts healthy in the river. I've been struggling with the 53 foot spey head I had on so I've now changed to a shooting head type line. Much better in the wind. The spey line is lovely to cast when it's not windy don't often get that in the highlands of Scotland though 😅.
@scottishoutdoorlifeАй бұрын
They were certainly getting a feed that day. I prefer they way a floating spey line fishes. More line to grip the water. 👍

Lovely to see the smoults there. Looks like there is some food for them too on the rocks. I'm guessing that's cadis fly eggs we were seeing on the rocks. We just need to give those wee guys a fighting chance of getting out to Greenland and home again in a couple of years time.

Not sure what you mean, they are you salmon on there way to sea. We are only 1 mile from the tidal influence. Young salmon which have turned silver, travelled downstream from the headwaters and are almost at the sea equals a smolt?

Back in the late 60s and early 70s salmon would regularly swim through your legs. Commercial fishing has a lot to answer for.

Good wee video again sir its just about being In the right place at the right time nowadays for salmon especially on a big river like the tay only fished it a few times for salmon was usually the earn fished and had some great days many moons ago the amount of fish in it was crazy every pool was stuffed with fish but even then it could still be hard get a fish the sea trout fishing at this time used to be great
@user-gn4wn3cs6mАй бұрын
Nice stretch of river but not a bite. I don't think commercial fishing is the main cause of lack of fish. Many compounding factors , even with restocking we have an uphill battle in the Rhine. Look forward to the next outing 😂
