I'm moving to Amsterdam next year after spending most of my life living in the NYC Metro area, and working in NYC as a Software Engineer. I first visited when I was 26 and loved it. I've been back 3 more times after that, and even made friends who I keep in touch with. I'm now 32, and while I wish I had taken the initiative to move there in my 20s, I'm happy to still be able to do it. I was considering Prague for sometime, but Amsterdam seems the friendliest and best paying for tech workers.

Idk about companies but at school Dutch people usually didn’t switch to English and even my friends just speak Dutch to each other and only use English when addressing me directly, that is if they remember to 😂

9 years in Amsterdam n I don’t bike at all. Netherlands in general could be a good place for biking but in Amsterdam it’s just an additional stress factor, especially if you haven’t been born on a bike 😂

I've always wondered what it is like to get your hair dyed, and it takes that long where you have to bring a lunch? I mean I'm not saying it's stupid, cause it looks like it's worth it. My hair is like every color on the board except black white or grey. I call it light auburn, but it's some goldish blonde highlights and some reddish highlights. During the winter it looks like a dirty dark blonde or brown, and during the summer the sun gives my highlights some red lol I could be a strawberry blonde but idk I cant tan naturally either but that doesn't mean I'm a true redhead either. It's fine, but these days I'm legitimately edging on getting my hair semi dyed blonde like a beachy warm blonde something like that and I'm using instant sun tanner maybe that'll make that blonde pop or something. Nothing wrong with changing my looks, I honestly think it'll help build a platform for my self confidence.

If I were you I would never leave Amsterdam for London but of course this is your choice

13:35 I've worked with a lot of Dutch people over the years and English is compulsory at all levels of the Dutch secondary education system. They speak English as well as the English themselves. Therefore, you'll never encounter any language barrier in the Netherlands... unless you're speaking double Dutch 😟
