I been wearing sperical rgp lens for fifty years now, and I am wondering if a front toric lens will improve my visual acuity or correct my cylinder power completely or above 90%. The sperical rgp lens neuatralize my cylinder about 90%. Below are my spectacle rx, "K" readings and some topography readings: OD : 0.25 - 1.25 x 090, K= 42.75/41.50 @ 104, eccent= 0.450, p-value = 0.798, shape factor =0.203, B.C.= 8.15mm and Dia = 9.5, HVID=11.9mm. O.S : 0.25 - 1.75 x 090, " K"= 42.75/41.25@ 094, eccent = 0.450, p-value0.798, shape factor= 0.203, B.C. =8.20mm, dia = 9.5mm, HVID = 11.9mm. Question should I be fitted with a Front Toric RGP to judge the different in visual acuity ? I am looking for a slighly sharper and clearer improvement in visual acuity... Thank you, Jose, can u c ?

Outstanding video! Regarding the last patient, however, with keratoconus; you discarded corneal lenses on the second eye based on too much fluid in the vertical meridian. Wouldn't it be possible to make it quad toric and alter the north and south parts? Or what about adding a reverse curve for some extra vault over the cone... A local PhD in optometry swears to that method, but I've no idea myself. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Hi. i recently got my scleral lenses a few months back. ive noticed that a bunch of small air pockets start to form in my eye everytime i go outside. im in pakistan, the conditionong solution im using is b&l simplus and salution is a .9% NACL IV administrative pack. i am unable to find out why these bubbles keep forming. there are two things ive narrowed down as the possible problems. humidity and allergy. But am unable to narrow it down further. please help.

I had semi-rigid GP contacts back in 1990 and they were very uncomfortable. I only wore them for about 6 months. I hope 30 years later, they have improved significantly, because I’m thinking about GP contacts again. I have a lot of astigmatism in both eyes, hence GP contacts. How do you find an optometrist who really knows this stuff? I saw another video where it said contact points should be around the circumference and lightly in the center. Oh boy......

Agreed.i saw three eye doc's that fit them too tight and loose. Then the 4th eye doc nailed it.That was 15yrs ago. When dry eyes ensued after wearing soft lenses for years,i needed to upgrade to rgp lenses. Spent lots of frustration of time and money in the beginning to have rgp lenses that didn't fit right, it was so dissatisfying. True most eye doc's just aren't well versed in fitting this modality. 2yrs ago got another update to multifocal rgp lenses as presbyopia ensued, now currently on my second upgrade as my near power has increased. My multifocal RGP lenses fit amazing and are super comfortable. I wear BOSTON XO2 w/ Blanchard Essentials I/II multifocal design and works tremendously well for my visual needs. I have dry sensitive eyes and wear them in perfect comfort everyday.

The latest rgp materials are ultra permeable and super comfortable, well fitting rgp lenses become super comfortable within about 15-20min on eye. Proper fit is essential in the long-term comfort of rgp lenses. I have dry sensitive eyes and I wear them everyday in perfect comfort.

Thank you for sharing this video. Unfortunately, too much contact-lens-related/-fitting information made available is skewed (or plainly and oppressively biased) toward the advertising goals of manufacturers. Despite being created by a contact-lens laboratory (Valley Contax), this short segment is quite helpful, and overall sincere.
