It would definitely be an advantage if you... - ... could try out the game BEFORE you "have" to buy it. - ... offer the game not only to the exclusion of the public. In other words, if the game is also available on Steam & co. Preferably including workshop support. - Cosmoteer has shown how successful such a game can be. - (And as a bonus for this channel:) ...fill the official channel with trailers and other content instead of letting it be referred. On the one hand, this creates attention and reach for the game, and on the other, the uninformed can no longer get the idea that the development of this game has probably been discontinued.

Steam release?

Version 0.96 of StarSector released May of 2023. Starsector is the best (single-player game) space pirates simulator, space anti-AI fanatics simulator, and second-best space genocide simulator of 2023.

Recently got told about this, been hooked for 2 weeks and started adding factions and nexirelin mod, so so good, needs way more attention.

Purchased StarSector and got hunted and ambushed by space pirates in my first new game when outside Core Sectors' space. Found out that "Go Dark" is an awesome ability to hunt pirates and hostile factions one by one. Don't use this ability in friendly territory. Best game for me in 2022. Thanks to Rarr, Sett, and Spiff for recommending StarSector.

Love On First Sight

Not a fun game so far. I started out on Easy. Got wiped out the very first fight. Very shortly afterwards I don't have enough supplies to go very far and no money to purchase more crew or needed supplies. Seems like waste of money at this point. Seemed like a fun game when I watched the streamers playing it.

Dear FractualSoftworks, i know you are very reluctant to put the game on Steam, i already own it but would like to have it on Steam, not because i particularly like Valve, i don't but it is the best platform for extra features and addons to games, just raise the price 30% which is what steam takes from you, i think the game is worth that which is something i rarely get to say. Put it in early access so nobody expect a complete game.

I saw this before knowing the merchants guild bank rolled a sseth video so I know it's probably either really amazing or absolutely 9/10 don't play it

Why are so many people obsessed with a Steam release? StarSector has been a well polished game for a couple of years now (never seen anything game breaking), it's dirt cheap, no crappy DRM and finding/installing mods is almost as easy as using the Steam Workshop (but with no garbage mods). What exactly is there to gain from waiting?
