Let's face it, Sainz was running out of options. I don't blame him for going to Williams, but going from Ferrari to Williams is a step down IMO. Red Bull clearly wanted to keep Verstappen happy so that meant no Sainz at the big team. Personally I would have told Verstappen to suck it up. A good driver like Sainz would have kept Red Bull consistently in the hunt for Constructor World Championships, even if Red Bulls performance happens to sway. Sainz is a better driver than Perez IMO.

What Mercedes did with Russell was genius and I don’t think it was meant to be that way, but look where they were at in the running order before everyone made their second pit stop he essentially overcut and away six positions. And I think Mercedes was thinking the fresh tires he’ll come maybe in a second or third place which didn’t end up like that.I feel like he was definitely the day he dominated kind of like Piastri did when Lando had to give up the position. He got past Perez and the leading passes. But the strategy put him in second so I mean it’s bittersweet I’m glad Hamilton got the win, but not at the price of George get disqualified.
