I'm playing this game for the first time, and tried this boss before, but obviously got spanked due to my lack of experience, but I did manage to instinctively guard counter a few times without understanding the mechanic itself. I guess now I'll be able to do this

in my opinion its the best mid to end game great rune simply because the other runes at this point are either very useless or have fallen off. morgotts +25% max hp isnt bad but your max hp is trivial compared to how good your flasks are, and radhans is less at 15% hp in exchange for 15% stamina, but your max stamina is useless compared to your stamina recovery, and max fp isnt as important as how good your flasks are, and godfreys is pretty good, but only until you start hitting soft caps where it completely falls off and does virtually nothing, and every other rune is just plain bad. this rune on the other hand is the GOAT of dungeons and exploration. you will NEVER run out of healing and need to rest at a grace ever again, and you have a way to restore health while attacking instead of needing to find a safe way to heal while getting jumped by 4 enemies at once.

Would have been so much easier if you would use daggers to keep poise up . Guard Counter does 30 Poise damage and Margit only has 80 Poise so you would have broken him a lot. But you only have 6 seconds before poise resets and you waited too long :( so throw some dagger that you find in the starting area inbetween

Thanks for the tip. When i was shooting the helmet and it made the ding sound i thought it was invincible in that part and i stopped shooting. I didnt know that if i continue, the helmet will get removed. Nice .....

I don't exactly remember but it was probably around 17ish. I did every boss in my first playthrough and then made it to this fight on Ng+ so whatever that would put me at. I assume around 17

Ng +4? I know for a fact that 1.5k damage isnt that small against malenia. I used bolt of gransax and 2.4k damage was like 1/5 of her health.

But what you could do is equip a large shield not to parry but to block most attacks (especially waterfowl dance) and equip stamp (upward cut) on the axe and if you want to bend the rules, get the misercorde and upgrade it alot and use glintblade phalnx for maximuk stagger damage.

Very nice, one of my favorite weapons in elden ring. This fight is a test of patience, the axe is very short and not super fast so you really need to pick the right openings to do damage, i can see you really have this fight down, what a show.

Use the great rune plus assassins crimson dagger and icon shield plus ancestral spirits horn plus the blasphemous and get ready for the biggest unlimited Health as long as you kill a enemy you may even take this to a whole other level by choosing the ash of war blood fist use that to finish enemy’s and watch the health regeneration please make a video on this!

Don’t forget about the God Serpent curved sword that heals for kills, and the Six Stars Mace that heals per hit. Add Cameos Taker Talisman for bonus heals for kills. Beastial vitality for heal over time 5hp a sec. icon shield for 3HPs, blessed dew talisman for 2HPs. Erdtrees blessing 10HPs. There’s plenty to heal with, also the ash of war ,blood tax(IRS) has crazy heals like 20-25% healed. Add that to the Antspure Rapier to cause both Bleed and Scarlet Rot and steal people’s health. If you want to test something out really crazy this is a build I’ve been working on. Try using Fires Deadly Sin with Bloodflame blade incantation to become a walking bloody inferno. Gives you a passive aoe bleed proc which is great protection from getting ganked, Or passive bleed buildup on bosses. Also try wearing Brairs gauntlets or greaves so you interrupt enemy attack’s by rolling into them and getting a easy LB power stance attack. There’s so many options to experiment with but I don’t have the time to do so. So have fun experimenting.
