While I have no experience with MSYS, the command for changing git branches is 'checkout' so you may want to try 'git checkout wireless_playground'.

I really, really hate that you are taking the time, hours upon hours, to scour every single planet of every single resource, even the ones that have nothing interesting in them, but when there is talking and interaction you often skip dialogues and go straight to the point, even though the quirky, funny banter with the aliens is the game's main draw. "Oh, why did they added an Urpox to the game? It adds nothing to it mechanically." BECAUSE IT'S INTERESTING, YOU OIL BARREL! It's a surviving member of the Faction of Eight! The villains who shaped the current villains! An ancient relic of the past come alive! Who WOULDN'T want to interact with one? You play a game about exploration while having no sense of wonder. A game about quirky aliens and silly dialogue without a sense of humour. And spend countless hours scouring generic planets and taking review notes without a sense that maybe, just maybe, people would prefer if you edited those boring parts out. If you weren't one of, like, three people in the entire planet who ever played this DLC, I wouldn't be watching this playthrough, and I hate my only choices are either watching it, or forking over 30 dollars to play it myself.

A couple points that I hope explain things to your satisfaction. One is this is the only game in the Star Control series I am familiar with, then or now, so I would not recognize the Urpox, as I lack that context. The other is this being the review playthrough, I am obliged to speak during it, to provide my opinion of the game as I play it. It is possible I felt more free to speak over dialogue in many of these videos, as this was my second (review) playthrough of the game. When I get to the new content, from the Earth Rising expansions, I should be quieter, and hopefully have that greater sense of wonder you feel I should. Here is a link to that first playthrough, just in case you are interested in watching/listening to more from an oil barrel: kzbin.info/aero/PLrgZii6kOLjqGH2Swyt-2B0I4LElnqeA6

Hey Jim, quick question: How big is the terrain and building limitations? Thinking about getting the game but im a real fan of making HUGE cities rather than micromanaging villages
@GuestJimOCC
@GuestJimOCC 8 ай бұрын
Did some searching because I don't quite remember the sizes of the map options, but apparently you are able to create custom map sizes. There is a MapSizes.json file that stores the information and can be edited. I believe I created the current map at the game's largest, which is 266x266x16, but I see a disabled dev map of 512x512x16. I have no idea how stable running such a huge map would be. Because this may more directly answer your question, there is a border around the map that blocks actions, including building. Quickly loading my map up, this border is 16 squares from the edge. Within the border, you can do whatever, so massive single city or many small villages.

Hey I like your base. One note about your production - when the music for the game kicks in I can hardly hear you. I would always recommend reducing the volume for the music in all your games significantly. I find that it is generally nicer as a background music rather than competing with you :p keep up the good work!
@GuestJimOCC
@GuestJimOCC 8 ай бұрын
Thank you! Initially I was confused by your comment because I have the audio processing configured to reduce the game audio when I'm talking. But, that only works if the audio tracks are in the right order, and I had flipped the game and mic tracks when setting up the laptop. Can't fix it for older videos, but it is fixed for the next on. I've also lowered the game audio some as well.

You realise you’re playing a medieval game simulator lol, butchery and stonemasonry are highly skilled industries in the world we live in now, back then absolutely not. The cuts of meat for example weren’t even a thing then, they didn’t have T-bone steaks hahaha also cuts of meat are different all over the world.
@GuestJimOCC
@GuestJimOCC 10 ай бұрын
Butchery and stonemasonry were absolutely skilled professions in medieval times. Looking up butchers, the earliest butcher shop appeared in medieval Austria apparently, and it was during the medieval era when butcher guilds formed. These would not have sprung from nothing, but from people who already demonstrated the skill and aptitude for it. If nothing else, there would have been those most able to remove organs, bones, tendons, etc. without removing desirable meat along with them. As for different cuts, why wouldn't they have identified them by taste, texture, and other characteristics and then isolate them for sale based on those qualities? As for stonemasons, this absolutely would have been a skill going to ancient times, with Rome, Greece, and Egypt as a few easy examples. I'd expect more skill then as now, because we have access to concrete today, so almost artificial stone we can mold, instead of real stone that must be carved and shaped together. The way I think of it is this: If they had abundant access to the material at the time, there were people skilled at working it, because it would be used and those who used it best would continue using it, improving their skills.

Hello, ı have a question if you answer me ı will be really glad to you . I want to buy the COUGAR Terminator chair, but since I am a big person and I do sports, unfortunately there is no place where I can try the product. My height is 1.80 cm. My shoulder width (width) is 57 cm and I weigh 120 kilos. I sits when ı came home to chair around 10 hours sometimes without resting so Do you think I will be comfortable , can ı fit comfortably if I buy this seat? or should ı look another chairs ? your opunion is important to me so please If possible, could you reply.
@GuestJimOCC
@GuestJimOCC 10 ай бұрын
I'm a bit taller than you (6 ft 4 in or 193 cm) but I don't think my shoulders are as wide. Not sure about the weight difference, but I am comfortable in this. The one thing that might be a concern, though only for a short time (was for me anyway) is the way the chair's shoulder pieces are angled. When I lean back in it I found myself shifting off of the center line, so one shoulder is on the back of the chair, and one on a shoulder piece. Otherwise the chair wants to push both of my shoulders forward. I adapted, as I described, so it might not be an issue for you either.
@dogukanberkkoc5526
@dogukanberkkoc5526 10 ай бұрын
@@GuestJimOCCYes, that was the point I was really afraid of. Because my shoulders are wide, would my waist touch the chair when I sat straight on the chair? But as far as I understand, the chair will push me forward and will not support my waist. It can only support my waist if I sit sideways. I hope I understood correctly. If so, this chair will disturb me. Because I am generally a person who always sits straight. If the shoulder part of the chair pushes me forward and does not support my waist, I don't think I can be comfortable.

Putting a bridge over the river there leaves no space to build a means to defend it. Recommend you put the bridge further up or downstream and have your entrance into the settlement a few blocks away so you can combine defence of both in only one single entrance so you don't have to fatally split your forces when you are attacked, and build an entrance with defence in depth so it takes them a long time to breakthrough whilst all that time you are shooting them. It's called Going Medieval so think medieval.
@GuestJimOCC
@GuestJimOCC 11 ай бұрын
That is good advice, and it is giving me ideas on how to build defenses around the bridge. But, I have the map set to peaceful. It's a me-thing that I just enjoy the challenge of building things up and so do not want the threats of attack. (I wish it were an option in various 4X games too, but I don't think any I have offer peaceful.)

You almost certainly had the pronunciation of Edhide right - perhaps pronounce the d a bit more but as a minor not as a major. It's an Anglo-Saxon name and at that time the i in the middle of a word or name was pronounced as we now pronounce e, so Edheeda should be right.

Urgent haul, is usefully , if you have no job i.e. (farming, cutting) at 1. Use 2 as 1 instead for high Priority jobs . leave tend, Patient, Conv, urgent haul at 1. Set normal haul at 2 or 3 your choice... than when you click on a urgent haul item your people will put what you Marked as top priority if not doing another 1 priority job i.e. tending, patient,conv. Which you want them to do.. Is self preservation. Then when its, a dead a Animal or raw Material you need badly mark it urgent haul, and people will get it, after completing the task they're on...hopefully this helps..it works for me. Never use 1 for, farming, cutting,mining, etc. 1 is for emergency it overrides everything...love your videos.
