Hello DYI, How do you join the heating block and the cooling block? With which part? The original part supplied doesn't fit. The ptfe tube doesn't fit as far as shown in your video. Did you make a specific part? Thanks for your feedback. Have a nice day.

Very nice DIY project. What I do not like very much is the energy inefficiency. I would alter two things: a) Switch to electric heating / e.g. from an old toaster b) Build a housing for the cage and the heating. You gain two major improvements. a) With a sensor you can control your roasting temperature more precisely b) You waste less energy and can optionally power the applicance with solar energy instead of fossil gas. c) You can use the same ventilator for heating and cooling d) You can build a drawer at the bottom to collect the clutter

flame roasted coffee from my own experience produces a much more tasty cup of coffee. I see what you are saying but these when dailed in after use and learning curves are just fine and saying electric is more efficient is a stretch

OR.....You could print a little two-piece (PLA) filament hand held clamp with an opening that you hold a lighter under for a few seconds, push the freshly welded filament through and TaDa! Just look it up on youtube. This is like picking up a mop bucket full of dirt with a payloader! When all you need is a "Shovel"..... Use a shovel!

Take aluminium foil, wrap it tightly around the filament (really tight) to create a mold around 5-10CM long, then put both filament ends inside and hold a lighter under it to heat it up. Works every time, is easy and cheap.
