If you do much 3d printing where you want a good finish, you might want to buy an electric foot callus remover like shown in this video: 'Make Layer Lines Disappear in Seconds | The Best Way to Smooth 3D Prints' by M.M's Prop Shop > kzbin.info/www/bejne/nZ6Ylp99ibmnr8k

how long they can fly on a single charge
@pathfinder.george7 сағат бұрын
This model is stated to fly up to 4h with a big pack (20Ah), so I assume with VTOL it should do just over 3h. I haven't done range testing yet. Semi-solid LiPos might extend that range tho.
@kerrycorcoran488511 сағат бұрын
Good stuff. Building mine currently too. For the hinges, you can simply print some out of TPU. They're basically indestructable.
@pathfinder.george7 сағат бұрын
That's a solid idea! I have TPU laying around. I'll give it a shot. Thanks!

Oh wow, that's epic! How far along are you? I'm also currently building a Stingray VTOL, but without the gimbal. I certainly plan on adding one with onboard machine vision as soon as I do a few autonomous flight tests.

There is a light weight ABS available as well. If you want a printer to do engineering filament I'd look into a Qidi I have the Q1 and it's awesome for abs, nylon and even polypropylene.
@pathfinder.george13 сағат бұрын
Thanks for sharing! I've seen other wing builders use ABS, so I'm tempted to try it. Didn't know about the lightweight variant tho. How does Qidi compare to Bambu? Is it a noticeable improvement?

Of course Not. You can try to find free 3d models online (Thingiverse, etc) but I bet Flightory models will be superior, hence why they can only be purchased via their official website - I am not affiliated with them. You could try to message them for an extra discount. Cheers!

Important! Do NOT cut carbon fibre without proper respiratory, eye and hand protection, especially at home or any unventilated area. Thank you brothers for the comments. Learning by doing can have hidden dangers, so I appreciate it!
@thirtythreeeyes86242 күн бұрын
If you can, do it with a water bath as the dust can get everywhere.
@stewartsas5 күн бұрын
Cured Carbon Fiber is more dangerous than Asbestos, you should wear a respirator when cutting it, and don't do in in your bedroom... You'll get lung cancer.
@pathfinder.george5 күн бұрын
Sheesh, thanks for the heads up! I did use a covid mask and vacuumed afterwards but I'll make sure to do that outside. Tho you probably meant the part where I cut using the multi-tool which was completely unprotected indeed...

Thanks for letting me know! Will look into it. Are you sure it's not a network bandwidth problem? Does lowering the resolution help?

Hey, long story short, we pivoted to building UAVs. Will post the update tomorrow. The minimalist supercar became a hyper-efficient electric sports car, but we couldn't find funding for it, hence the pivot. As for social, you can search for Nomadium Robotics on IG (instagram.com/nomadium.robotics/)
