What if your fx loop is foot switchable like on my dsl 20 , then it only works when the loop is on , Kind ’a crappy , i want to be able to switch on my effekcts by pressing on the loop , but then my rythm channel has no gate when loop is off

Haha! Funny I had figured it out and thought...I think lots of people would appreciate a simple explanation on how to set this up. Opened my camera and kind of started talking and it seems like it's been helpful for the past few years so thank you so much for the love it means a lot to me!

I absolutely love my MetalZone! Makes my Marshall MG15 running through my Marshall MX412A sound better than my DSL100H. (Bought new tubes so hoping to change that) but that’s how good it sounds. Thing about the MZ is meatheads turn it up to 10, that’s why dials exist guys.
@bradjones23143 ай бұрын
Absolutely incorrect. The metal zone is a preamp and should always go through the effects loop
@brianleechee3 ай бұрын
Mine always sounds entirely like ass when I do that, but go entirely ahead and reconfigure, there's no 1 way to arrange the pedals but this is how you even use the NS-2 to create an FX loop using the 4 cable method :)
@brianleechee3 ай бұрын
Also, this isn't ABSOLUTELY incorrect lol. I happen to have a metal zone cause i just never got another distortion pedal since i had that one. But i state that you can use distortion, fuzz, or overdrive in the video. So it's not ABSOLUTELY incorrect lol.

Thanks so much for this. My tone is now so clean I could eat off it. I was about to sell my NS2 because I thought I couldn't get the noise down without affecting the delay repeats. Turns out I was connecting it incorrectly into the chain. Now my swells are so clear, no noise at all and all my effects sound amazing.

I don't have a return send on my amp lol does that mean I skip that extra step?
@brianleechee5 ай бұрын
@TANMAN47TANMAN I'd say go into the input of the NS-2, out the send, through your pedal chain and into the front of the amp. This puts all your pedals pre preamp. So your amp settings will affect the tone of everything that comes before it but I think the noise suppressor should still knock out some unwanted noise, just don't crank it to max because you then may lose the tonal qualities of everything thereafter :)

Thank you Brian! I made three attempts at this hook-up using three other methods and none worked, then I found your video and hey presto! Just one pertinent question...where in the chain should I put the compressor? All the best from here in U.K
@brianleechee8 ай бұрын
Wow! The U.K. that's amazing! Glad it helped! I've always heard that compressors go pretty early on into the chain. Like tuner, wah, compressor. Because you want the wah to affect the signal directly, and the compressor to balance the wahed tone. But you don't want to compressor squishing your overdrives, and distortions. You want the comp to level out the dynamics of the cleanest part of your guitar, then your effects are affecting the balanced compressed tone and not BEING compressed if you put it after them. So yeah! Like you want your signal to hit that wah and be aggressively affected and wahed out right? So you don't compress the signal then hit the wah. You hit the wah, then the comp should balance and tighten the tone, then everything else after is affecting the compressed balanced tone instead of being compressed and weakened. Hope that helps!
@kingsettle91458 ай бұрын
I see, that's very helpful, and makes perfect sense. Thank you! Now that I have that tech conundrum sorted I can get back to the unending task of practice:) Many thanks!🙏

HELP Ive got a problem. Im using Marshall jvm 410. In effects loop im using digitech drop, phaser, booster and chorus. When use this x method and turn the fx loop button on my signal drops to about 10% that i can barely hear it. What might be wrong? I use gain only from the amp.
@brianleechee11 ай бұрын
Your threshold may be to high! I'll answer in a bit when I get home
@brianleechee11 ай бұрын
Ok, the Marshall JVM 410 has 2 FX loops. Use my process on the 1st one labeled "Serial/Parallel Fx Loop". To the right of that is a dry/wet knob. All the way left, you'll get pure guitar tone and no Fx heard even if they're engaged. The further right you turn this knob, the more your FX will be blended in to your original guitar tone. Too much of an effect can potentially drown your guitar tone out and make it perceiveably quieter, so make sure the tone isn't drowned out by the effects. Now, this I found interesting. To the right of the Dry/Wet knob, there is a pad switch. If its pushed in, it will reduce your level by...ready for this...-10dB. Could explain your 10% loss in volume! If you press it again and its sticking out, there should be a +4dB boost in the signal so...idk if that'll actually make your guitar louder than the original guitar signal or what, but I'd say that could be the culprit. That, or the threshold on the NS-2 is too high and you need to roll it back a bit. I hope that helps! Let me know if it works for you or not, I'm curious!
@castelgandfolfo582011 ай бұрын
Thx for the response. So I actually used this parallel loop and the knob 100% wet to get complete sound from my effects. And the +4dB boost was on. I tried almost everything and nothing thats why im asking. I also want to mention that Im using Boss ns1x. I lost hope to be honest :( @@brianleechee

I've had the Emerge Vortex for a few days now, & I am utterly shocked at the quality of this chair for the price! Originally...I was going to save up for the Anda Seat Phantom 3(but since I had no chair for my workstation desk, I wasn't about to wait another month.) I also have a Staples right down the street for me, so that was an added incentive to choose the Staples brand chair. It's surprisingly comfortable and sturdy for the price(as well as being firm, supportive...but not rigid.) During long sessions, I need the option to sit Indian-style and with the flip-up arms, I can easily switch seating positions....nice! The height of this chair is perfect(as my desk is on wheels, so it sits a bit higher) and this chair accommodates the height difference beautifully. Though seat specs are subjective, I still think that at this price...anyone talking sh*t about this chair are c-o-m-p-l-e-t-e-l-y out of their minds!

Thanks for the video. Was messing up putting my tube screamer in front of the NS2 but this explained everything great. Noise pedal thru the loop is the way to go. No loss of signal or sustain versus going right into the front of the amp.

Just my opinion but I would put the metal zone and whah within the send return of your noise suppressor and output it from that to the amp and then use the send an return from your amp for your phaser and delay. You could then use a foot switch for your amp to toggle them on or off.
