i really love English lang, but it's a mess how every non native pronounce difference, in the end I follow them BUT the most annoying is that any native won't understand us even from context when these learner speakers do a slight different sound. CAN U "ENGLISH PEOPLE" AT LEAST TRY TO IMAGINE AND DO HELPFUL EFFORT WHEN A WORD DOES NOT MATCH WITH YOUR TONE? OMGSH

Hi! I've been curious for a long time about this "croaking" or "growling" noise making by women when speaking, and finally I 've heard the ''real" name of that fenomena- "vocal fry". I've always thought that it's just because of sore throat or cold.But I found out that accually It's considered a bad manner. Some girls and young women trying to sound this way just to be cool or something and it's typically Californian "thing",There's no vocal fry in Brits. To me as a non-native, it's just funny 😅but some people hate it because it sounds snobby and very annoying. So,I don't think It's a good idea to mimic this noise. I came across some videos, maybe it will be interesting for you as well. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jXXJe6FnoMiEq7c. Some people even try to get rid of it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/iWGrdHh7fduJbdU. The last one is really useful. Your channel is amazing. I'm sure it's going to keep on growing just keep up the awesome work! I'm very big on shadowing and really passioned about mimicking. Wishing you all the best with your channel!

Hey, sorry for the late response and thank you so much for your kind words and best wishes. Yes, vocal fry has definitely gained on popularity over the last several years, and is noticed now in other cultures as well. I don't really mind it if it's not overdone. If it's too much, I think it becomes annoying and distractive.

Hi, sorry for the late response. In this case it means to go and help another team temporarily. This was not her regular job or assignment, but she was asked to help out based on her previous experience. It's like borrowing an employee for some period of time. I hope this helps.

6:00 What did you say here, could you write it out for me? Was it: African Ch?
@LingoAdventureАй бұрын
Hey, sorry I didn't respond earlier. The linguistic term is affricate. The two affricates in English are CH as in choice and J as in job. I hope this helps.

I want to say one thing, I am not able to understand what the other person is saying in English, and I also face difficulty in understanding the written English language. What is my fault in this, you are in America, that is why you speak this, if one could learn the language by listening then everyone would be able to speak any language, Asking questions resolves doubts, If I don't know how to speak the language, it's not my fault. Because I can't find a solution to my problem

The more relevant impact I see with this new boom of LLM( Large Language Models) is how the students will potentiate their autonomous learning. A couple of years ago, when you wanted to practice speaking, you had to communicate exclusively with a human. Now this can be more or less circumvented because these IA models are far from perfect. The important thing to know here is that IA models are simply tools. Teachers are always going to be required no matter the area of knowledge. Or at least, that's one of the big arguments of Khan Salman in his book "Brave New Words", which I mentioned in our live conversation.

Thank you for your great video Daniela! You explained very well the aspects of the trouble that some people face when it comes to language acquisition. I'm Bulgarian like you, and now I am learning English. I'm also an engineer, and I have the same problems with learning English as you described in the video. I tried to use complicated words and overthought mistakes, which hindered my progress. Now I try to use simpler words and learn everything in context, and I think this helps me. Your video was great. I've watched a lot of videos on this topic, but yours was very clear and focused.

please are you English native ? I see you try to learn a lot of languages such polish and your husband is polish you said you talk to him . I'm learning English on my own. and I speak Spanish too .but it's enough for me I do it for pleasure. I'm going step by step and I'm not running I like take time to meditate on what I learned and then try to repeat the words talking to myself .anyway it's a pleasure and not forcing. I'm Richard coming from LYON in france

Hi Richard, thank you for your comment. No, I'm not a native English speaker. My first language is Bulgarian, and my second language is Polish. So, English is my third one. Growing up in Bulgaria, I also had to study Russian at school, but although I understand a lot of it and am able to read it, I only speak a little bit. I also took Spanish in college and I'm planning to go back to it in the future, but right now I am learning Portuguese. Good luck with your learning English. I like it that you are taking it slow and enjoying the journey.

@@LingoAdventure it's nice to have an answer coming from you teacher.i saw you're learning a lot of languages at the same time .I don't know how can you do that ? When I was a child at home my parents had friends who were polish and i remember they were trying to teach me polish words .I like polish but I prefer to learn English it's more helpful for me. My gran parents were Spanish and i grew up hearing Spanish and step by step I began to speak Spanish. It's a difficult language English is more simple .obviously I'm a beginner but I like it . I'm reading the holy scripture in English and at the same time Tristan and iseult. I'm reading in Spanish too and last time I found a Spanish book which title is winter in Mallorca. A good book which had written GEORGE SAND .I like reading and listen to TED TALK life is so wonderful and i spend my time to learn about God too .I think it's important to have a spiritual living only worshipping God by holy scripture is what Jesus said to us .I love communicate thank you for your answer I appreciated your message. I'm RICHARD coming from LYON in FRANCE God blesses your family .
