Hey, camera”man”. Obviously you are unaware that even three years ago “pods”, bi-pods and even TRI-pods were available for video cameras/phones. A beautiful biplane’s flight was ruined by your “capturing” it all for the world to “enjoy’”.

@@johngriffin4404 John, Did you ever have a problem with the O-435? There’s a Starduster for sale and I’m told to be aware of the ‘orphaned’ engine because you can’t get parts for it.

@@johngriffin4404 Hi John, I’m looking at a Starduster for sale with the O-435 engine. I’ve been told to stay away from that motor because it’s an orphan and very difficult to find parts for. What’s your opinion? Thanks, Bill

It’s a good engine but they are correct. Parts are difficult to get. My L5 has the same engine and I have 2 spares for parts plus some rebuilt cylinders and starter and generator. I had my Starduster for 18 years and never had an issue and it is still flying today. On the flip side, I’ve replaced 3 cylinders and the generator on my L5 since I’ve owned it.

Yes, it had an O-435-1. Saw it for sale in Van Nuys, CA not long ago. Owned it for 17 years and enjoyed it. They are great airplanes.

AWESOME! Short hop but was a blast! My Dad had an L-5 and we had great fun in it. This video took me back a bunch of years to wonderful memories. He had a special prop that allowed us to take=off & land pretty much on the STOL lines. Used to drive the controllers out of their minds. Great fun & laughter aplenty! Many thanks!
