When you watched the video explaining the rules and you said that guy had the “aura” that’s Nathan Cleary. He’s phenomenal. I could never back the Broncs because I’m from NSW so can’t back QLD, State of Origin is something you should check out. That’s the best of the best from each state, the biggest rivalry we have. It’s electric. I love watching Americans enjoying NRL, hope there’s more of it!

Thought u were a Yawnion fan?. You wont like this. Just ask a south African. "Blasphemy that's not proper rugby, u should watch our mighty BOKS they are the best of the best". Boring talk from a boring game. League is a sport.

He's back. But i think he'll get more game time since at the bulls kurt lee Arendse is first choice. But i remember that KLA is moving to japan to play there. So this might be his chance to grab the opportunity as soon as KLA goes there.

#Springboks will only play again in July 2025. In the meantime, nobody is really resting - new players are being conditioned and older players are being worked on. A group of about 70 players are being nursed.

My man, you can tell wingers by the numbers on the back of their jerseys. Those are 11 and 14 (Like Kolbe & Kurt-Lee Arendse)But those apply to only the starting line up . At least that the start 😅

Before the "turquoise shit"-boks used wear WHITE and green when kit clashed for "color-blind" viewers... FACT: South Africa is forced to wear "alternative kit" more than any other team on earth.

Dyantyi got a lifeline 1 year contract with the Sharks [where the host majority of the incumbent Springboks are contracted thanks to the deep pockets of Roc Nation] He was scouted by a friend of mine after being overlooked by all the Universities who insisted that the University of Johannesburg accommodate him. He repaid that faith with proper dividends before making a mistake that cost him dearly. All who know him will vouch for his character. What doesn't kill him makes him stronger

RG Snyman is known for his impressive offloading ability, a rare skill for a lock [Offloading is predominantly a skill displayed by the backline players] Just a few weeks ago RG made 8 offloads in a single game. This was against Connacht in the United Rugby Championship. To put that in perspective, coaches often rave about backline players who make 4 in a game. In my hometown where he's from he's known as the "Disselboom van Potchefstroom"

Siya Normally play #6 Flank... Here are some more info about that position... When thinking of a number 6 flanker in rugby, especially with someone like Siya Kolisi in mind, you're envisioning a leader, a workhorse, and a game-changer. Kolisi, South Africa’s captain and a world-renowned blindside flanker, embodies the physicality, skill, and tactical intelligence required for this role. Here's an in-depth explanation of the number 6 flanker (blindside flanker) position: 1. The Role of a Number 6 Flanker The number 6 flanker operates as part of the loose forwards trio (numbers 6, 7, and 8) and plays a crucial role in both attack and defense. The blindside flanker (number 6) focuses on covering the "blindside" of the field-the side of the scrum with less open space when play resumes. Primary Purpose The number 6 is a defensive powerhouse, tasked with shutting down opposition attacks and providing relentless pressure at the breakdown. They also serve as a ball-carrier, a support runner, and a ruck enforcer, ensuring their team maintains or disrupts possession as needed. 2. Responsibilities of a Number 6 Flanker A number 6 flanker like Kolisi is a complete player who thrives in all aspects of the game. Here’s a breakdown of their key tasks: A. Defensive Duties Tackling Machine: The number 6 is often the first to engage in tackles, bringing down opposing ball-carriers with precision and power. They target key players to disrupt momentum. Defensive Line Leader: They organize the defensive line and ensure gaps are closed, particularly on the blindside where quick turnovers can occur. Counter-Rucking: They aim to dominate opponents at the breakdown by either driving them off the ball or slowing their possession. B. Breakdown Work Securing Possession: The number 6 flanker is pivotal in cleaning out rucks to protect their team’s ball. Turnovers: While not as specialized as the openside flanker (number 7), a number 6 can still compete for turnovers by getting over the ball in breakdown situations. C. Ball-Carrying Physical Presence in Attack: The number 6 flanker is often used as a battering ram to gain hard meters, especially in tight spaces. Support Running: They provide options for offloads, acting as a link between the forwards and backs. D. Scrum and Lineout Contributions Scrum: The blindside flanker binds on the left side of the scrum, helping stabilize the pack and adding power to the forward drive. Lineouts: Depending on the team strategy, they can be a jumper, a lifter, or even a decoy. E. Leadership and Game Awareness Decision-Making Under Pressure: Siya Kolisi’s leadership epitomizes the mental aspect of a number 6. They need to stay calm, assess situations quickly, and adjust tactics. Inspiration: The number 6 flanker often leads by example with their work rate and commitment, rallying their teammates when the going gets tough. 3. Characteristics of a Top Number 6 Flanker To excel in this role, a player needs a blend of physical and mental attributes: Physical Traits Strength and Power: A number 6 flanker like Kolisi needs to dominate in physical contests, whether tackling, clearing rucks, or carrying the ball. Endurance: They cover vast areas of the field and must maintain high performance for 80 minutes. Agility and Balance: In tight situations, they need quick footwork to evade defenders or adjust in breakdowns. Mental Traits Game Awareness: They must read the play effectively, anticipating where the ball will be and positioning themselves accordingly. Resilience: They are often in the thick of contact, so mental and physical toughness is essential. Discipline: The flanker must be aggressive but within the rules to avoid penalties at the breakdown. 4. Siya Kolisi’s Approach to the Number 6 Role Tackling Power: Kolisi is renowned for his bone-crunching tackles, stopping opponents dead in their tracks. Breakdown Mastery: He consistently disrupts the opposition’s rucks and secures quick ball for his team. Ball-Carrying Brilliance: Kolisi’s ability to break the line with powerful runs inspires his teammates and creates momentum. Leadership on and off the Field: Kolisi’s role as captain demonstrates the leadership qualities often associated with a top-tier number 6. He communicates effectively, rallies his team, and leads by example. 5. How the Number 6 Flanker Fits into the Team Defensive Backbone: The blindside flanker complements the openside flanker and number 8 to form a dynamic loose-forward trio. While the openside focuses on speed and turnovers, the blindside focuses on raw physicality and defensive dominance. All-Rounder: A good number 6 like Kolisi is involved in all facets of the game, from scrums and lineouts to rucks and open play. Game-Changer: They can turn the tide of a match with a big tackle, a critical turnover, or a powerful ball carry. 6. Famous Blindside Flankers in Rugby Siya Kolisi (South Africa): A model of consistency, power, and leadership. Jerome Kaino (New Zealand): Known for his physicality and work rate. Wales’ Dan Lydiate: Famous for his tackling ability and defensive work. Francois Louw (South Africa): Another Springbok legend who combined breakdown skills with defensive steel. 7. Why the Number 6 Flanker Matters The number 6 flanker is a team’s enforcer and engine, providing the physical edge needed in close encounters and ensuring defensive solidity. Players like Siya Kolisi redefine the role by adding leadership, versatility, and inspiration. They are often the unsung heroes of the team, doing the hard work that allows others to shine. In short, a blindside flanker is the heart of the forward pack, embodying power, skill, and determination to secure victory for their team.

Siya is a Flanker (Loose Forward). The number belongs to the position. You get the number in the position you start the game. If you change position in a different game you change to that positions number. We don’t put names on the Jersey cause the jersey owns you not the other way around.
