Were they excepting US dollars for vendors and taxis? At all three ports Cabo and Mazatlan too?

We used American dollars in all 3 ports (puerto Vallarta, Cabo, and Mazatlan)

Nice video. Was the food decent as I would like to bring my grandson and wife to the resort this fall. Not a picky eater. I was last in Cuba 8X before Covid and enjoyed all my vacations.
@TravellingKareena6 күн бұрын
Hello. Thanks for watching my video. I didn’t stay at this resort so I can’t give any first hand experience but I had friends there and they said that the food was good. My experience from multiple Cuban resorts right now is that if you are not picky, you will do just fine. I’ve never gone without food - just be prepared for not a lot of variety. As you know, Cuba has beautiful beaches and this resort has a stunning beach!

I love your videos and wish I would have found your channel sooner. I just sailed on the Dream last week and didn't know the Jubilee existed until we pulled up next to it at Cozumel. I'm torn between sailing on the Jubilee or the Panorama next summer with my kids. I really want to visit the Mexican Riviera but live in Texas and Galveston is just easier to get to. I don't want to visit the same ports.

Just had a bad experience in Cabo San Lucas during my family's Panorama cruise. We didn't pay for a Carnival excursion. As soon as we got off the ship, we were BOMBARDED with vendors. I mean seriously, people kept coming up to us again and again trying to sell us stuff and to get us to take a private water taxi of the place. We honestly just wanted to walk around and see what we could see. We kept refusing, but they kept coming back. After 30 to 45 minutes of vendors constantly trying to sell to us, some people in my group decided to do a water taxi. Everything started out fine. The boat probably could have seated 15 to 20 people, but we only had 8. We got on the boat at a docking location. After cruising around for a while, the driver took us to Mercado beach. However, there was no dock and the waters were kind of tidy. The driver would sail as far as he could to the shore, but the tide would just pull the boat back in. He was trying to rush everyone (in Spanish) to get out of the boat. My wife and I were in the process of taking off our shoes to put on beach shoes. The next thing I know, someone said that my brother had fallen into the water. As I saw him crawling to shore, I noticed that he would fall back down every time he tried to get back up. I hurried, got out and went to him. I noticed that something wasn't right with him left knee. We sat him down and he kept saying he couldn't move him leg. So now, we're on an island in unknown territory around people we can barely communicate with while my brother needed medical attention. A person in my party called a Lyft and my brother and I got back to the Carnival water shuttle dock and we went right to the medical center on deck 0. Long story short, my brother ruptured his patellar tendon. I must say though that the medical staff was very helpful. Since the cruise ship was going to be in Cabo for 2 days, the nurse set it up so that my brother could be seen at Blue Net hospital the next morning. Carnival made sure was had a nice experience getting to the hospital. People assisted my brother from the Carnival medical center all the way to the hospital. I must say that the hospital wasn't the nicest looking hospital in the world (wasn't the worst either), but the care was actually pretty good. They couldn't do an MRI at the hospital, but they got us to a place ASAP. The driver took us to a place and led us to a dark room. LOL!! He walked outside. I turned the lights on. He came back in a communicated to us that someone would be there in about 10 minutes for the MRI. The MRI process was actually very quick and the lady did a great job. She gave us a large envelope with all of the MRI negatives and a DVD. We then went back to Blue Net and spoke with a specialist who told us it was a patellar rupture. He was actually ready to operate that same day. We declined, but the team of doctors who we spoke to sounded very knowledgeable. We decided it would be best to wait and just have the surgery went he got back to the US. I must also note that Blue Net charged my brother $1000 for the MRI and Carnival charged him about $550 for treatment in the medical center. Thinking back on everything, I just get upset thinking about being dropped off in the middle of all those vendors. I had a much better experience when we went to Half Moon City on my Carnival Bahamas cruise. Not a bunch of vendors in Half Moon City and we were dropped off right at the beach basically. So my brother had a horrible experience on his first cruise and I also didn't have much of a good time to celebrate my 51st birthday either because I stayed back and hung out with my brother on the ship for 4 days while the other 6 people in my party did activities. $1000's spent for my wife and 2 kids for the cruise and a bunch spent of air fair. I must also add that I was shocked to see how many people actually require medical attention while on cruises. We talked to a lady who broke her arm the first night on the Panorama cruise. While in the medical center, we saw a guy being wheeled in who broke one of his his large toes. While being water shuttled to go to Blue Net hospital, we saw two older ladies on stretchers who both looked like they needed serious attention. While in Blue Net hospital, we saw more people from the cruise come in and could hear a lady from the cruise in the back screaming because she was having some kind of medication reaction. People never think about this stuff when planning cruises. What if someone gets hurt? If something serious happens while on a cruise, we don't plan for that type of stuff.

This video makes me feel very nostalgic when I see the images of the hotel where I worked for more than ten years as a tourist entertainer. I worked at the Cuban Club, a typical Cuban country house located very close to the gymnasium, or rather, between the gymnasium and the theater. There, Cuban Day or the Cuban Party was held. I would put the pig on the grill very early in the morning and when the first guests came out of their rooms, they could smell the roasted pork smell that filled every part of the hotel. Also inside the Cuban house, during the week, I would demonstrate Cuban cocktails, roll tobacco, give Spanish lessons and I would also sing with my guitar. Unfortunately, a hurricane destroyed that Cuban house and a large part of other facilities in the hotel, a horrible hurricane. My opinion is that Cuban Day could never have been better than in those times, and it was never the same after that. In 2019 I came to Turkey and here I am, still singing but with a group. Whenever we tour almost all of Turkey, we play our Cuban music. I really like the renovations that have been done at Sol Coco. I hope it will once again have the same occupancy as it had before. That was my home, I know every inch of my Sol Cayo Coco. Thank you very much for this video.

I have received an offer to upgrade to a spa balcony from a standard balcony for $172. From your experience do you feel it is worth it?
@TravellingKareenaАй бұрын
You have to base it on your own personal preference. Ask yourself if you’ll use the spa thermal suite. If the answer is yes, then it would probably be a good idea to upgrade. If the answer is no, save your money. I personally didn’t use the spa enough to warrant the upgrade, but I’m not a spa goer generally.
