So I used Queen Homeschool when my kids were little. I loved it. We've moved, they started going to public school and now we are back to thinking about homeschool for high school (one child). The moment I realized we were going to homeschool again, I immediately went to Queen Homeschool. I'm so excited to dive into this again at the high school level.

So far, one of Israel's kids are gay, one of them is agnostic, and all of them are Suffering. Between Israel's selfish and hyper-controlling nature, and his gross neglect of their general health (one was bed-ridden in a wheelchair for months because he was too Selfish to listen to the pleas of others on the matter till it was too late), most of them will never even get to live a full life. Why is ANYONE listening to this man talk about Christianity OR parenting??? Or family?? His Mom died weeping over his sin, crying (literally) "oh Absalom! Oh Absalom!" over his heartless nature and betrayal. I was there and saw this with my own eyes, after she e-mailed me to say Israel had left to start a competing "ministry" and wiped out her computers on his way out. He used her (and he still Uses her) but he never cared for her. He left her to die in the most terrible way and now he is working hard to cover it up; with Lies and Pretend: Just so his own sins don't come out in the process. It's shocking. It's wrong. He threatened his own sister, who is battling and losing to cancer; and refuses to even let her have any photos of their mom, even, or say where she is buried -- sheerly out of Spite. I don't know what for. We're all pretty Certain that Mom was murdered, but Israel lied and obstructed the police investigation, saying, "the public doesn't need to know, we don't want them to find out". WTH?! He forced (by saying, "If you don't marry him, you won't be allowed here for Christmas and you won't get to see my children anymore") his younger sister to marry a much older man who physically abuses her, even strangled her -- and he tells her that she isn't Allowed to get a divorce, or he'll cut her off. He'll do it, too. He disowned his other sister for leaving a short but abusive marriage, even with bruises on her body and deep marks on her wrists from where the restraining ropes cut into her. He didn't care. He wouldn't even have a conversation about it. Just: Dead and written off. His religion has no mercy. He has a Sick patriarchal view that only Uses women, and does not respect them as Human -- just property to bear children. I know him only as a selfish, angry, controlling and abusive bully. He literally doesn't care who lives or dies: just about Himself. His image. His ego. His carefully controlled public Fraud. And that is sad -- he had such Potential, once. But unchecked sin and pride and greed ruin a man, Utterly. He makes money and earns "respect" as a homeschooling "authority". And he loves to be viewed as a religious authority. But he doesn't actually practice what Jesus said. Or he would answer me directly and resolve some Very important matters, without public display. It would be Important to resolve your own sister's questions, distress, accusations and grievances, if you were a follower of Christ -- not just ignore, threaten and harm them if they "tell anyone". He's a blatant and deceitful Fraud. For him to talk about "Jesus" makes me ill.... I can't bear it anymore. Jesus is the master of TRUTH, LOVE, MERCY, JUSTICE and RIGHTEOUSNESS -- no?? Where are Those things? My faith is Shook. Is all of religion a massive con? Am I the delusional one, who just Imagined it to be real?? Look in his eyes: He is Satan, in the flesh. Of course he knows what is profitable to parrot to his audience. But. How on earth are you people actually falling for his act, and just ignoring the pain and distress and abuse and death that surrounds him, and comes From him, and which he is Only hellbent on keeping covered up, Dishonestly?

@@rachaelpierson3470you are right in your assessment! LLATL is fantastic but can be a lot. So I used and assigned the literature books with Queens LL and that was a great balance and fit. My oldest is an author and she loved this balance of the four or so books from LLATL and credits Queen LA and living books for her passion of writing and reading. For one of my other kids they used Queen’s as the core four days a week and SCM ULW twice a week with Spelling Wisdom. It worked out well for that child. But you don’t have to use both. Queen LL solo works well! It’s so simple yet so effective, has a variety, and is directed straight to the student. So you can be hands off depending on reading ability. My oldest did the High school books 1&2 together one year with skipping the copy work in one of the books if the other had it for that day. Then she did the grammar and high school 3 book. For my older two children(now both graduated) we use Wordsmith and Queen together starting in seventh grade. So by 10th they were done with Wordsmith. My oldest, the author, finished out her high school career with just Queen and Literature. My third child started with both Wordsmith and Queen at the same time in 6th grade. He did the first book of Wordsmith then Wordsmith Apprentice with Queen. They complement each other well! It’s very manageable daily. He is currently doing LLFLE 9 from Masterbooks. That is also going very well. We love that it covers the Pilgrims Progress for literature with everything else. In January(our new school year) he will be doing Wordsmith Craftsman and Queen high school grammar together. Then he will finish out 11th grade with Masterbooks LLFLE 10. 12th grade is to be determined but probably Queen High school book 3 for research with what Masterbooks may have available at the time. I hope this is helpful and not confusing.

Yeah, math and LA seem to be the two subjects people are conflicted about. Those subjects in general are the ones that cause the greatest fear. But we are not a people called to fear. The Lord will help us. Seeking him and gaining wisdom from him for our children and homeschool is most important. I think consistency is the key for those subjects along with immediate correction and review. That’s what will cause the growth. As skill based subjects, we also need to focus on where are students are and not where they should be because of outside pressure or arbitrary grade levels. Students will begin to thrive in an environment of consistency, practice, and knowing the why. When students gain understanding for the reasons and logical steps they begin to see everything build on each other and understand with greater confidence and clarity. We have seen the progression of MB math and LA . It really does pick up and gets meaty and prepares a student well for college, dual enrollment, and the workforce. Dr. Lisle has written on this and here is the link to his clear arguments from scripture about the roundness of the Earth. Here is an excerpt. Link below: What does the Bible Teach? One of the strangest claims that you will find on some internet posts is the claim that the Bible supposedly teaches a flat earth. This is odd indeed because the Bible clearly indicates that the earth is round. Job 26:10 poetically describes God inscribing a circle on the face of the waters at the boundary between light and darkness. This boundary is what scientists today call the “terminator.” It is the location on the earth’s surface where evening and morning occur, shown by the red dashes in figure 1. In other words, a person standing on the terminator is either experiencing a sunrise, or a sunset. The shape of the terminator is a circle, just as the Bible states in Job 26:10. And it occurs primarily on the waters of the earth because the earth’s surface is 71% water. A sphere is the only shape where the terminator will always be a circle. The roundness of the earth is implied in other passages as well. Genesis 6-8 describes a global flood in which all the high hills under the entire heaven were covered (Genesis 7:19). Of course, you cannot have a global flood without a globe. If the earth were flat, the water would run off the sides unless there were a rim around the edge - which would constitute a hill that is not covered with water, contrary to Genesis 7:19. How then could anyone claim that the Bible teaches a flat earth? Some internet articles list many verses that supposedly teach a flat earth, but when you look up the verse you will find nothing of the sort. Here are a few examples:[1] “Earth Created Before the Sun: Genesis 1:1-19.” Uhm. Yes, the earth was created before the sun. But how does that even remotely imply that it is flat? “Universe is Complete, Not ever expanding: Genesis 2:1” Well, “complete” doesn’t mean “not expanding”, but even so, how does this even remotely imply that it is flat? “Earth Measurements Unknown: Job 38:4-5, 38:18, Jeremiah 31:37, Proverbs 25:3” Actually, the Job passages do not teach that the earth’s measurements are unknown (though they were probably unknown to Job at that time). Rather, God is asking Job where he was when God measured the earth. But none of these verses even remotely imply a flat earth. “Extremely Large Area of Land is FLAT, no curvature: Ezekiel 45:1” When you read the verse does it say that such land is flat or that it has no curvature? Not at all. “Sun moves backwards: 2 Kings 20:8-11” How is this even remotely related to the shape of the earth? The overwhelming majority of the verses cited are like this. They say absolutely nothing about the shape of the earth. Perhaps the person who listed these thought that we wouldn’t check. Perhaps the person is so inundated with his own viewpoint that he or she reads it into every verse. But clearly, none of these verses even remotely imply a flat earth. But there are a few that someone might think actually say something about the earth’s shape… until we read them in context. For example: “Earth has a Face (a geometrical flat surface): Genesis 1:29” This sounds good, until you realize that the person making the claim has absolutely no exegetical support for his claim that a “face” is a “geometrically flat surface.” On the contrary, the Hebrew word translated “face” or “surface” in Genesis 1:29 is “panim” and literally means “face” or “surface” without any requirement of flatness. In fact, the same word is used of the human face in passages like Genesis 9:23, 17:3, 32:20, 33:10, 38:15, 43:31, 44:23, 46:30, 48:11, 50:1. Is the human face flat or curved? Yes, it is curved. And so this argument backfires on the flat-earther. “High Altitude Perspectives: Daniel 4:11, Daniel 4:20, Matthew 4:8” The passage in Daniel 4:11 describes a tree that grew so large that it was visible to the whole earth. If the tree had height, but no substantial width then indeed it could not be seen by people on the other side of the sphere. By the way, where is this tree and why can I not see it? Well, when we read the verse in context, we find this is not God describing the actual earth. Rather, it is Nebuchadnezzar giving a description of his dream. Perhaps Nebuchadnezzar did dream of a flat earth, but how does that have any bearing on the actual shape of the earth? Furthermore, Daniel explains in verses 20-22 that this tree is not literal, but symbolized King Nebuchadnezzar. How could the flat-earther have missed this? In Matthew 4:8 Satan tempts Christ by taking Him to a high mountain and showing Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. Presumably the flat-earther thinks that it was the height of the mountain that made it possible for Christ to see all the kingdoms of the earth, which would only make sense on a flat earth. But does the text actually say that this is the reason? If so, then where is this mountain? If there were a mountain from which you could see everywhere on earth, then wouldn’t everyone on earth be able to see the mountain? So why can’t we? The parallel account in Luke 4:5 states that Satan “showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time” suggesting that this was a vision, not a location from which all kingdoms can be seen physically. Such horrible misrepresentations of Scripture may stem from the fact that the modern flat earth movement was largely developed by non-Christians in an attempt to discredit the Bible. Eric Dubay is the founder of the modern flat earth movement, and he denies that Jesus ever lived. Apparently, some Christians heard some of these bad arguments supposedly based on Scripture and thought that they were legitimate. They are not. The History of the Science So when and how did scientists discover that the world was round? Many people are under the impression that Christopher Columbus intended to prove that the earth is round - that this was the purpose of his voyage. This is false. Educated people already knew that the world was round by the time of Columbus.[2] People have known this from very ancient times. So when was this discovered and how? Can we really prove that the earth is round today? As far as I know, the earliest reference to a round earth is the book of Job, especially Job 26:10 which describes the circular terminator as discussed above. Job was written in approximately 2000 B.C. Other early civilizations such as the Babylonians and early Greeks taught that the earth was flat. For example, the Greek scholar Anaximander (610 - ~546 B.C.) taught that the earth was flat. Specifically, he claimed the earth to be a cylinder with mankind living on one of the (flat) ends. It is very ironic that some flat-earthers claim that the round earth is a pagan idea, when in reality the pagan cultures clearly taught a flat earth while the book of Job describes the round earth. It was not until the time of Pythagoras (~570 - ~495 B.C.) that the Greeks came to accept what the Bible had taught for the previous 1500 years. The earth really is spherical. It seems that the followers of Pythagoras accepted a round world, though their reasons for believing this are not recorded. The first recorded scientific arguments for a round earth come from Aristotle (384 - 322 B.C.). He noted that the positions of the constellations appear to shift as a person travels south in a way that is consistent with the surface of earth being a sphere. He also noted that the shadow of the earth on the moon during a lunar eclipse is always a circle; this won’t work on a flat earth and is proof positive that the earth is spherical as we will show below. By the time of Eratosthenes (276 - 194 B.C.), the Greeks were well aware of the spherical nature of the earth. Eratosthenes then used observed measurements of the height of the sun as observed in Syene and Alexandria respectively on the same day to compute the size of the earth. Since these two cities are at two different latitudes, the angle of the sun at noon is different due to the curvature of the earth. By measuring the difference in angle, and knowing the distance between the two cities, Eratosthenes accurately computed the size of the entire globe. We can use a variation of his method to demonstrate that the earth is indeed round, as we will show below. biblicalscienceinstitute.com/apologetics/is-the-earth-really-round/

Measuring flat earth elevation angle measurements of Polaris is how we get latitude. You can't measure elevation angles of Polaris with a curved surface. Not being able to see Polaris when beyond 5400nm is not because earth is a sphere. That's an affirming the consequent formal logical fallacy. An argument that uses a fallacy is invalid (doesn't prove the conclusion).

@@moments_peace You said earth was a sphere because Polaris can't be seen from Australia. That's just tying your belief to not being able to see something. You have not proven earth is a sphere. Now you're asking me for an explanation for your fallacious argument. There's an argument called the black swan. If p then q, not q therefore not p. If the earth is a sphere with a radius of 3,959 miles (p) then the distance to the horizon can be no more than 1.23 miles times the square root of the observer's height in feet (q). An observer at 1 foot camera height recorded the horizon being over 10 miles away (not q). Therefore earth is not a sphere (not p).

@moments_peace 5 ай бұрын
@@tbrown3356 This is from the Biblical Science Institute website regarding flat earth. Dr. Lisle from the video wrote this: The Earth is round - approximately spherical.[1] We know this from countless observations. Today we even have photographs taken from space that show the sphericity of our world. All GPS (global positioning system) and satellite technology is based on this fact. Perhaps you have watched the sun set over the horizon, and then called a friend in a different time zone where the sun is still visible. This would not be possible on a flat Earth. Lunar eclipses prove that the Earth is spherical. During a lunar eclipse, the Earth passes between the sun and the moon. The Earth casts its shadow upon the moon. And the shadow it casts is always circular. If the Earth were a flat disk, it would only cast a circular shadow on the moon if the moon is directly overhead. At any other position, a circular disk would cast an elliptical shadow, not a circular one. Yet, the Earth’s shadow is always circular, which is only possible for a sphere. I live in Colorado Springs where it is very easy to detect the curvature of the Earth. There are windmill farms to the east that I cannot see from the town because they are beyond the horizon; the curvature of the Earth blocks them from view. But if I travel West up into the mountains, I can then see the windmills, even though my distance from them has increased. The Bible does mention the roundness of the Earth. One (possible) mention is Isaiah 40:22, where the passage poetically describes God sitting upon the circle of the Earth. This makes sense if the Earth is round. Granted, the passage might also allow for the Earth to be a flat disk which is also round in two dimensions but not in the third. Or it might refer to Earth’s orbit around the sun. So the passage is not conclusive. But Job 26:10 really does not make sense unless the Earth is spherical. Job 26:10 poetically describes God inscribing a circle on the surface of the waters at the boundary between light and darkness. Such a boundary is called the terminator, where light stops. The terminator is the location on Earth where people are seeing either a sunrise or a sunset. A terminator can only be a circle on Earth’s oceans if the Earth is spherical. Many other scientific proofs are available. In fact, people have known that the Earth is round since very ancient times. We will look at some of these in detail in an upcoming article. The point here is that we know biblically and scientifically that the Earth is round. So why would any Christian deny this fact? biblicalscienceinstitute.com/apologetics/a-round-earth-natural-selection-and-dinosaurs/

@@tbrown3356 Dr. Jason Lisle is a Bible believing Christian astrophysicist who has proven that the earth is round with simple examples on his website which is called the biblical science Institute. The word science means knowledge. It is entirely biblical to study the world that God created and derive conclusions based on our observations. The resurrection of Jesus Christ utilizes historical testimony to confirm this is an event that has been proven beyond the shadow of a doubt. Regarding the view of the Northstar from Australia, that is simply a clear, observational fact that the Earth is round because you cannot view the north star from the southern hemisphere because of the curvature of the earth. The curvature of the earth can be measured. This should be noncontroversial and not debatable, but yet here we are.

This video is outstanding!! THANK YOU to both of you for being Godly parents who are focused on raising your kids to have a Biblical worldview. This was such a needed discussion between you and Randy and since this interview isn't on the Masterbooks KZbin channel, it's a hidden gem here on KZbin. I was searching for MB moms on KZbin as I would love to see more MB reviews and flip-throughs and I found your channel. I too am in the MB app and I recognized your name immediately, so I quickly clicked your channel and am so thankful I found this video! =) Thank you for your passion and commitment to disciple your kids, not just homeschool them. I know of many homeschoolers, but I often feel alone in our commitment to intentionally disciple our kids. It's so encouraging to know that parents like you are out there keeping the eternal perspective in mind! And Nereida! When you had your rant near the end about Language Lessons, Foundations in Faith, and the talk with the Mormons, wow!! What a beautiful testimony to all of those MB courses! We've been using MB since 2019, but sometimes I still doubt some of the courses. But everything you said was so encouraging and reminds me to stay the course! How awesome for you to witness the fruit of your labor in your children!! And THANK YOU Mike for being such a godly dad and for pursuing godly, Biblical, fatherhood with passion! Men are being degraded in our culture so it is so encouraging to actually see men standing firm on the convictions to be godly fathers! Thank you for all you are doing! And how exciting Nereida, that as a MB "fangirl," you're now a MB Coach! woo hoo! May God continue to bless you abundantly! - Michelle

Hey Michelle! Thank you so much for your encouragement!! It was a blessing to wake up to such kind encouraging words! You are a blessing! Randy was awesome to talk to! He has a lot of wisdom as you know! We are so thankful you have been encouraged to keep strong in fighting the good fight of faith. You are so right that there are many homeschoolers but not many committed to true discipleship homeschoolers. But it’s encouraging and beautiful that there are others who understand our responsibility and duty to actively raise up our kids to know Christ. Jesus will bless our laboring for him and promises that His word will not come back void. Our kids are not perfect and of course have their struggles like any of us but God has been so gracious to our family! MB resources have really aided us in discipling our kids for him. The Word of God, the apologetic resources and curriculum from MB have been a huge part of our lives to know Christ, grow in our faith, and defend it. I truly believe the MB courses get better with high school. When you set good boundaries, expectations, and atmosphere/routines when the kids are younger it’s so much easier in the high school years. The high school years is when you do see the fruit of all that you sowed. Of course, I wish I could have been better at this looking back but again God is still faithful even when we feel like we fall short. The high school years have the best discussions! Jesus works with us being faithful and He really does do the rest. Keep on doing what you are doing. I think it’s normal to feel doubt in different stages but if the Lord has led you here remember this: Isaiah 30:21 And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left. Mike is very thankful for your encouragement!! You are so right about godly fathers and this culture! They need more encouragement because I think it can feel very lonely for men too. It’s so encouraging though that even though we are not in the same area we share the same heart and mindset for the Lord and raising children for him. I honestly think that is one of the main reasons the MB app community is so unique and special, we all have that heart for discipleship. It’s truly one of a kind online community! ❤️ Thank you again Michelle!! May the Lord continue to bless and strengthen you as you work hard as a wife, mama,homemaker and teacher for his glory!!

@@matthewleewillis This and many other things do not have a satisfactory answer readily available. To say "refraction" is not going to cut it. WitsitGetsIt needs to be engaged by Jason Lisle. I don't have answers to many of Austin Witsits arguments (and several of them are compelling, minimally with regard to a stationary earth, even if it's a globe). Jason I think would have answers, and I think the engagement would be very constructive. I think Jason is right, but I'm not going to pretend to have the answers to some of the better arguments.

I did! We are wrapping up. I ended up just dedicating Wednesdays to the geography/president part and that worked out a lot better. We did notebooking style and added the timeline pics and events in those notebooks. About once a quarter my kids did a presentation on a President, state, or one historical event that we had just studied. Some even made a state recipe for dinner. We watched KZbin, historical movies or documentaries every other Friday or when sick. The reading was manageable for four days aloud with notebooking narrations. My younger ones did oral or drew narrations or I helped them. They did enjoy cutting and pasting the timeline pics into their notebooks. I did assign other living books with a deadline anywhere from 2-4 weeks for my older students. Overall it went well and it’s doable but some planning and looking over things ahead of time and making copies of the timeline for each student is required. I did start to skip things in the American Story books that would say “let’s pretend” because I have older students. But that wasn’t a lot in the books. Other than that it was good! Hope this helps.
