You shouldn’t have to take a brand new firearm apart and start making repairs just to make it work properly..Rossi and Taurus should get their shit together and just make small corrections in order to sell quality products.

Rossi and Taurus are both chicken shit by selling cheap ass assembly parts in their firearms. Poorly cheap crap that is inexcusable for any firearm.

Just picked up a 92. If I was telling me that the gun has to break in. Watch your video looked at mine and said shit that's the exact same issue I got. Thanks

I bought a mod 92 last fall. I've had problems with it from the start. I have worked on it for hours. Many of the issues had to do with the loading. I took it apart several time and smoothed out sharp edges, etc. It still has some issues with lead bullets. I'm done with Rossi and will never buy another Rossi product. Consumers should not have to do mods and repairs on a new firearm. I will spend the extra money and buy a Marlin or a Henry, both made in America. I have Marlins and other guns that I have never had to modify, especially right out of the box. Yeah, the Rossi is inexpensive by todays standards but they are not quality products. Buy American!

From which side do you remove the bolt of the stopper mounted with the "stopper-unit" ... . i didn't get it out, no matter which side i'm hammering. Tools were: soft-head hammer and a 0.5mm punch I tried to fix the unit in a vice....

Thank you so much for these amazingly precise and informative videos. I sent mine to back to Rossi three times to get this exact problem addressed. They just keep sending it back claiming there is nothing wrong with it. Not being an advanced gunsmith like you appear to be, Ron, I remain frustrated. I sent it back to Rossi again demanding a full replacement. Rossi MUST know the problem that you do such an exquisite job of making crystal clear in your videos. Thank you for these videos. I searched and searched over the past months and then all of a sudden these came up and are EXACTLY the problem so clearly explained by you.

I had a similar problem with my Rossi: it would feed .38 fine, but not .357.

Thanks for this video. Straight to the point, well spoken, no bs. I had one of the early Amadeo Interarms models, and it was finicky with 38s, but ate up 357s all day long. Also, the loading door would a sometimes lock up, and after watching this video, I now believe that it may have been a rough and or poorly fitted cartridge stop causing the problem. I still loved that rifle in spite of this. Wish I'd never sold it. On a safety note, I learned the hard way to thoroughly clean the chamber after shooting 38s, especially before switching back to 357s. Due to minute shaving 38 bullets when entering the longer magnum throat. A build up of copper or lead can occur. And if not maintained, can cause a pressure surge when switching back to 357s. I was lucky in my case, as I only experienced a blown primmer that fried the tip of my firing pin. These are very strong guns, lucky for me. The same precaution should be taken with 357 revolvers when using 38s. I dont think the revolver would fair so well with that kind of pressure surge. Again, these lever guns are tough enough to handle 44 magnums, and some were even chambered in 454 Casull. Thanks again for the video.

Just added this to my saved videos. Ive decided to purchase a Rossi 357 stainless 20" next season and knew about this feeding issue, now I have a way to address it. I know that Henry's are superior, but they are literally twice the price in some cases. I cant seem to bring myself to spend money like that even if I had it.

Very ingenious of you Sir for creating the tolerance fix, but come on Rossi!! What is going on with their quality control? I mean, they don’t test their own product before boxing and shipping? Anyway congratulations to you for making your firearm what it should have been out of the box!!

You are correct. I have owned this rifle for12 years and always had feed issues with 38. I did the modification to the cartridge stop and took it out this morning. No problem fed like it should have out of the box. I always liked this little lever action. I just never thought it was reliable except with 357 ammo. Thanks.

After using my 357 Rossi 92 that I bought used real cheap in 2005 for thousands of rounds of 38Specials, it started letting rounds slip out of the magazine and jamming up the works on the weekend. Thanks for the info. I'll load up some dummy rounds in the morning and check mine out.

i have one that will only feed 357 length ammo .i have replaced the stop and spring made sure that the stop is centered but it still wants 357 length ammo .since i load every thing i shoot i can adj my bullet depth to set overall length .rossi wanted me to send it to them to try to fix but the rifle shoots soo good and i have a lot of time smoothing up the innards i don't them messing with it .also i no longer shoot CAS so i just shoot 357 ammo in mine

Sometimes it's the bullet shape that makes it harder to cycle. We had a Rossi at our shooting club that had a hard time cycling semi wadcutters for an example. The edge of the casing would get bumped somewhere and make the whole cartridge stovepipe in the action.
