Is there a way to realign the rails without dropping the ceiling and taking the whole rail assembly out? I have the sunroof glass removed and have access to the regular/motor. I already tried to manually do it using the motor adjusting allen screw, as well as tried removing the motor and then tried to push the rail by force, but no success either way. What happened with my car is I had a Kayak J-rack bar installed on the passenger side roof and accidentally rotated the sunroof opening knob, which caused the driver side rail to jump (teeth) ahead of the passenger side rail (as it couldn't move because of the obstruction). Now my roof doesn't close fully from the driver's side.

Though I appreciate the video it didn't help show the repair. Where is this motor in the vehicle? Where are those gears with the metal shavings located. How do you remove them?

Yo I have the same car. I accidentally stepped on the glass while the roof was up and now one of the rails that the glass mounts to is tilted forward and the roof barely moves. I've taken it all apart but I can't figure out what exactly happened. Any advice?

When I want to reset and pull down, the glass turned up and stay there...anyway happened

Reset must be done after the repair, with motor out and sunroof in completely closed position (you must manually close the sunroof first) please watch all 3 videos

Hi, I have changed the cables, works fine,but the front glass in the closed position doesn’t lineup with the brackets to tight the screw. What could be the problem? Please advise,thx

Hi. I would like to know how to recalibrate a panorama from an audi q5. After I disassembled it to replace the curtain, it does not close properly, and remains partially open. I would like to know if and how it is done with vcds .Thanks

This is a reminder to myself and anyone else for the future that the sunroof and sunroof-shade adaptation calibrations are carried out separately and do not require the use of VCDS, though obviously VCDS can be used to confirm success (faults will reset and remain clear). Commencing with sunroof and sunshade in closed position:- To calibrate sunroof pull down the sunroof switch and keep holding it down until after the sunroof opens and then closes again. To calibrate the sunroof sun-shade push the sunshade button all the way forward and hold in this position until after the sunshade has opened and then closed. Calibration is now complete and no other action is required. Be aware to keep hands and fingers clear of moving parts whilst calibration is taking place.

Watch all 3 videos and go through the process. After you install the spacer you will need to calibrate and reset

I didn't make a video on removing it, but it is a relatively simple process. All pillar covers have airbag signs, and behind them, there are screws holding them. After that, you'll need to remove all visors and handles and then drop the ceiling. Make sure you disconnect the battery first!

HI NOF, Unfortunately the whole assembly must be out because the spacer is added from the top portion

@@moybaku79 Damn !! Thank you !! I will try to change the gearwheel from the motor maybe I can solve the issue. We are waiting to see from you a tutorial how to grease it properly (panoramic mechanism). I understand using wrong grease or missing grease will cause lot of problems.

I'm unclear as to what was "lost" something about the hairs on that worm gear/cable thing? My JSW pano roof gets REAL sticky when it's hot outside and not so bad when it's cool out. Why would the temp make a difference?

Correct, bristles/hairs get torn away overtime. The spacer i made, pushes the worm closer to the gear and reduces room for slipping a tooth. When its hot, parts gain more friction. Try cleaning the rails/tracks of your sunroof then spay it with graphite or silicone lubricant. This should help with your problem.
