this towers construction, revolutionised the construction of buildings world wide

It would a awesome to use AI to show us a rendering how it would have been in operation and during the time the castle was hole and complete. But the site and area are clean and green, a site to be seen.

Beautiful views, thank you very much. Explanatory notes and arrows help to better understand the object in question. You managed to convey the scale of the ruins, it's great.
so glad you did this one and Portchester Castle will you be doing Raction Ruins in the future love the footage

Not sure if now sold but has been on the market fora long time. Being a listed structure could be a costly purchase, I imagine just to have a survey will cost several thousand pounds.

It has always been Sway Tower , I have lived near it all my life , first went up it sixty years ago. It was built by Andrew Peterson in the 1880s , there are two smaller towers nearby.

Sway is the name of a village in the New Forest, near Lymington, in Hampshire County, England, where this tower is located.
@bugattieb110ss13 күн бұрын
Consider putting a comma between the words 'Tower' and 'Sway' in your title. Victorian Folly Tower, Sway would be better. It helps all those uninformed people who expect something else.

It’s called punctuation, sadly lacking in education. Thank you.
@photonatureengland889511 күн бұрын
I will take on any punctuation that helps describe the place of interest.

This is click bait, I like others was expecting to see some kind of building sway, nice video but please try to be honest in your description.
@bugattieb110ss13 күн бұрын
That's because you're ignorant! Sway is a place in the New Forest.
@gcharlesworth113 күн бұрын
@@bugattieb110ss Whilst you on the other hand are the font of all knowledge, why was it not called Sway Tower, that would have been a more accurate description.
@AndreiTupolev11 күн бұрын
🙃 Sway is the name of the place
@photonatureengland889511 күн бұрын
It could be called Peterson's Folly or Tower. But because it is close to the town of Sway, it is called the Tower Sway. It may well sway a cm in stronger wind. But I try to be as accurate in the description of the places I film.
@JinzoCrash7 күн бұрын
I have to agree. Clicked on a video the other day, "Throbbing, Gushing Tower", but it was just the name of the forest it was in.

It didn't sway 😥

It probably sways centermeters in a strong wind. But I think the name Sway is the town close by.

@photonatureengland88952 ай бұрын
According to Google Earth, the height difference is 29 meters from the ground just next to the Hall to the High point of the West tree line which is 550m West of the Hall. My Drone was at an Elevation of 115 meters, so you won't see much perspective of the small hill around the Estate.
@photonatureengland88952 ай бұрын
If you look at the first 0:10 you can just see the West tree line hill.

Nice Video 👍 I tried to fly there in the summer but it has signal blockers, did you get permissinon to fly? just curious thanks.
@photonatureengland88952 ай бұрын
I did not look for permission to fly there. I was flying from the Public footpath that ran close to the building. Can't see any air space restriction. And I had no problem with the signal that I know about. It was just a normal flight for me.

Imagine being a volunteer getting a phone call on a dark and stormy night, with winds gusting up to 50 kmh. You've got to get up at 3 am with no time for a shower or coffee to clear your mind, as you fumble for the keys to your 150 cc Moped and struggle with the kick-start ("I should've bought a new battery," you think). After a 20 minute helter-skelter ride through driving rain, you unfreeze your fingers from the handlebars and face a 150 Metre marathon along that exposed walkway, battling freezing waves crashing into your 25 year-old face, (as yet unprotected by an "old salt's beard"), and barely manage to open the door to the RNLI Station. Fellow mariners greet you warmly by ribbing you for being 5 minutes late. "Quick, get your Civvy clothes off, and put your safety gear on, we're leaving in 7 minutes . . . We've got lives to save."

What is the visceral experience like when viewing a landscape through your POV drone viewfinder ? As an interested bystander, I imagine it would greatly add to the satisfaction of visiting a scene or tourist hot spot. However it could be a hassle and cumbersome to operate, creating otherwise extra stresses when you merely wish to immerse yourself in a visual experience, and not want to bother with the setting-up hassles and complying with pesky rules, restrictions and regulations attached to Drone Videography in Public Spaces.

Hello! Can you please tell me if you had to pay anything to Tilgate Park to fly the drone?
@photonatureengland88952 ай бұрын
You have to pay to park your car. Other than having a CAA operator ID, which I think is £10 per year flying a drone is free. If you're flying a small drone under 250g you don't need an Operator ID. You can go to the CAA web page for any info. www.caa.co.uk/drones/drone-code/getting-what-you-need-to-fly-legally/

@photonatureengland88953 ай бұрын
In an explosion during World War 2 the roof and the interior were damaged and then removed and sold off. Only the east side of the building still has the roof and interiors. Instead of demolish may have made it clearer. 2:49
