Nice bro, great onboard, im going to do the league of legends competition at the Orlando kart center in 2 days are you doing that also?

League racing I'm pretty much done with at this point and have been done with for quite sometime. One reason is because of my weight disadvantage (being out of shape) being 250-260 IBs and trying to outrun guys that are say 170-180 IBS and just are leaving me in the dust on the backstretch at Autobahn (lighter weight = lower downforce and COG = faster lap times) while I have an anchor (extra weight) riding on my back. Secondly, the participation started dropping off around the 2nd league season (when I was still qualifying and competing at the track) and nobody was coming around to show up and race...so I just felt there was no point continuing to waste money on this any further (I don't know how the participation is now a days over at Autobahn but I hope at least Autobahn is doing fine with just the public racing financially) I believe the only racing I'm going to do going forward is racing box stock engine flat karts (gas not electric)...maybe get back into some 1/4 scale R/C Racing or try my hand at some street stock/LLM racing at my local short track (whenever that's going to be...I don't have any plans at the moment) and of course SIM racing (NR2003, ACC, etc.) that I've been doing off and on now

What tire psi and gears should I run for this track? You didnt show it in this video, been using all your videos for setups and this is the one track you didnt fully show your setup.
To race these, you have to be at least 13 years old and 56 inches tall; but, kids between the ages 8-12 and at least 48 inches can drive the junior karts.

You guys may need to be a bit cleaner on the start. I think you guys all got ahead of yourselves and started bumping lol
@SIMCOMotorsportsTV3 жыл бұрын
That's hard to do when you got 10 league guys on the track at the same time running the same setup, tires, and only have 14 laps to try to win ...the only way to make a pass in one of these was pretty much performing bump-and-run.

I just went there for the first time ever. 2nd time on a track in a ksrt u actually have to use the break in. My best was a 22.4 cant wait to get back on rhe track to push those times. Gotta find the time with the least amount of ppl haha

As stated in the intro, there is no Part 16 in my Dirt to Daytona Career Mode walkthrough due to an audio issue on my part...I disabled the audio because I was putting together some troubleshooting gifs for a technical article I was writing on my gaming blog. I forgot to re-enable the audio and when I went to save my progress in the career mode, it was too late when I noticed my screw from the race I recorded. As for an overview of the parts upgrades I use on my dirt car in the game, the only upgrade I intended on maxing out was the aero because it is vital over having the biggest engine or exhaust upgrades to being competitive since there is no way to adjust the ride heights in this game besides the spoiler settings which I almost always set to the lowest setting to give me the lowest downforce possible for straight-line speed advantage.

Apologies for the video resolution. This race was recorded via VHS off a home surveillance style camera overlooking the track that probably was formatted for 240p or 360p resolution.

How do you know when to pit? Seems like the first few were every 5 minutes or so, but then you ran one for like 10 minutes.
@SIMCOMotorsportsTV3 жыл бұрын
It depends on a few factors...Batteries starting to die (say after a 14-15 lap run) and starting to lose time (.500 or more a lap). The other factor is getting off sequence from everybody else (pitting sooner or sometimes later) to pickup time (unfortunately I didn't quite get my strategy right and lost more time just trying to get strapped into a new kart)
@u-wot-n83 жыл бұрын
@@SIMCOMotorsportsTV do you have someone watching and signaling you when your pace drops off or is it more of a butt-feel/relative pace thing?
@SIMCOMotorsportsTV3 жыл бұрын
@@u-wot-n8 it's all about feeling and pace setting. I never had any friends or family come spot for me or communicate via a dry-erase board to tell me how I'm doing on-track in comparison to others. Plus, I could look up at the timing board briefly exiting turn 2 to see my times and what my pace is like.

I definitely favor this longer track layout over the small configuration that I drove around in my previous visit to this location.
@SIMCOMotorsportsTV7 жыл бұрын
To me, this new track layout takes away some of the challenge as the old layout; but, there is more room to pass and there is more draft potential on that long backstretch.

Thank you for this video. My first day I ran a 31 but was upset about not getting into the 30's. I now realize I need to go flat out off the straight into the two contact points before the two hair pins.

@SIMCOMotorsportsTV8 жыл бұрын
The guy driving the blue truck is sort of new, he used to race R/C cars back 20 years ago and this was his first of a few races he's run with 1/18th scale. Lakeland Speedway is located in Hueytown, Alabama (where I'm from) in a metal building behind a friend of mine's home...

SIMCOMotorsportsTV it's got to be borderline epileptic trying to keep up with those things.
@SIMCOMotorsportsTV8 жыл бұрын
Not really, you get used to it after quite a few races under your belt. We're turning 2.5 to 2.7 second laps around this small track which to me is still a little bit too fast for control; but, we're all very close in comparison to speed.
@johnulmerRacing8 жыл бұрын
SIMCOMotorsportsTV I used to do 1/10th scale on a 200ft oval. Started with a bolink chassis. had to upgrade that pretty quick
@SIMCOMotorsportsTV8 жыл бұрын
My father raced for Team Bolink before they went out of business back in the early to late 70's on up through the early 90's. He ran 1/10th and 1/12th scale pan cars for them and won some national championship races down at Lake Whippoorwill R/C Speedway & I believe he won an International championship a few times; but, don't know what he was racing.
@BoostedR1308 жыл бұрын
Very nice lines there. Just left that place and seemed to be locked down in the high 31's and low 32's. Being somewhat unfamiliar with electric karts I was just using the steering as a brake to slow the kart down which induced plenty of wheel hop, looks to me like you're using some brake to hold the racing line on this track?

It really depends...This is only our 2nd pro league season at AIS of B'Ham. They usually would let you know when and what you have to do...More than likely you'll have to qualify and run under a certain time to be guaranteed a spot in the league.

Great driving. I wish that more racers would allow faster people to go by them. Some don't realize that slower drivers could become lot faster by following those that are more experienced.
@SIMCOMotorsportsTV8 жыл бұрын
Definitely agree...It really helps to follow a faster guy to learn what their line is the whole track
