there is already open source software that does this. Its called RTAB-Map, ORBSLAM, and OpenVSLAM. This software has existed for over 10 years. The only thing new here is that its being used for war now.

They need this for future warfare. They need to fully map places where the future wars will most likely happen like Taiwan, europe.
