Black can play Bxg3 and if you take back, which you should, they can play Kxe7. Black's king will be quite exposed, but you can't do much to capitalize on it.

I would say yes. I can't imagine you can find a titled player who doesn't know this game. Same as the Opera Game, the Immortal Game, The Evergreen Game. Most especially the Opera Game, which is crazy, because I've got to recreate that game multiple times vs other players. Which is insane to me. It's the most famous game of all time and a game people learning the game should study in depth.
