Another great video, Ellis. Keep up the great work. Going to try and come up from WNC to get out with you in Jan/Feb. I’d like to just contact you a few days in advance of a warmer day to see if you’re free. If that’s no bother. Else you’ll have to hear me bitch & moan about how cold my hands are all day.

Is that water as murky as it seems or is it just the light?

A few days I commented on a long video of yours and I said I loved the long format with no talking. Well now I’ve come across this video & another where you do talk over it. So now I wanna say the opposite - keep talking. You’re cracking me up. This is way better than all the serious, over-edited, super-polished fly fishing videos out there. Watching your videos is about the next best thing when I can’t go fishing.

What an awesome format. Loved hearing you talk through the circumstances in-depth. Glad I found your channel. Thanks!

Wow. Loved this video. Wish all FF streamer vids were like this! Haven’t finished yet so not sure if you found any fish but great watch nonetheless.

Very informative and I appreciate it, but this video could have been 15 minutes. In fact, some parts, especially the very beginning were kinda creeepy.

I hope you dont eat anything out of the Holston river. It and the little pigeon river up in sevier county use to be really polluted. The little pigeon is supposed to be better now but i still wouldnt eat anything out of it either.

I honestly think you made quite a few good points in this, and I totally agree that most anglers miss out on retrieve speed and presentation in most of their fishing. However, I can only attest to my personal experience but with trout specifically, I have found that color matters just as much as those other things. In my mind it is a constantly dialing color, retrieve, fly size & presentation simultaneously. I also do not think that tan is a substitute for white, nor olive for black or purple. There's studies out there that show how fish eyes see colors at different depths. Wet olive and black may look the same to you but I doubt it does to them.
