Moral Orel is both a dark comedy and a drama, an adult stop-motion animated TV show created by Dino Stamatopoulos. Airing originally on Adult Swim from December 13, 2005, to December 18, 2008, the series follows the main protagonist, Orel Puppington, a young, optimistic, and naive boy, growing up in a heavily devoted Protestant town called Moralton. Orel attempts to show and improve his commitment to God; however, he is always messing up or misunderstanding the instruction or advice the adults give him. The show uses dark and nihilistic humor to go into the archetypes of suburban middle-American life and the modern-day white Anglo-Saxon Protestant culture.

I’ll be honest, I haven’t played gta v but I am familiar with that character, and I agree he’s a pretty apt comparison for a character like Murdoc. Bojack Horseman is also another character who comes to mind as Murdoc written in a slightly different font. These are my favorite types of characters, still, even years after making videos like this and moving on to other things. I love any character nuanced and small; both deeply insecure yet also hide behind bravado and a rough disposition as a survival instinct, given their past and personalities. Murdoc, when the writers actually cared about writing a good, compelling story, was my all-time fave fictional character ever. He’s still in my heart, but I’m afraid we’re never gonna get a satisfying or earned pay off when it comes to his personal journey and arc. They had all the right pieces and failed to utilize them. It’s a shame. Gorillaz at their peak is one of the best pieces of media ever ON ALL FRONTS

@@polyphonicprayer AGREED! Any sort of broken yet though acting character is always super interesting, especially when you get to delve into their backstory and what made them the way they are. Even more so if and when they get a redemption arc. I’m still hoping Murdoc gets some sort of redemption or develops some more redeeming qualities.

Still hoping they put in the right amount of effort and dedication for a movie or show that perfectly captures their story on screen. They still have time, they just need the right push. Until then…
