Thanks.. Great tutorial. Do you have any plans to make a video on how you would have modeled a heavy tree with many components with vertex colors for realistic wind shader in unreal engine 5. Or if you know a better method than the vertex color method.

hi, i dont do custom trees, i mostly use maxtree and globeplants. you can use alembic file to export the animtion to unreal but a little bit big file

export it as an alembic file. but i find the file size of the alembic pretty big.

Speedtree has a big file in exporting animation to 3dsmax. Not ideal.

Check your growfx file it it has metamesh. If it has just right click and convert to cylinder mesh

Also when editing use wire view especially those heavy files, you can lessen the loading by lessening the amount of leaves or twigs

Yeah if it has metamesh and too much twigs and leaves. It does go slow. For metamesh convert any metamesh to cylinder mesh

When recording the point cache data 3ds max keeps on crashing ...any idea on how do i avoid it ??

Try lowering your frames, make it just 6 to 8 seconds.

@@Tom_Oz if you want to convert to cylinder mesh just right click on metamesh and select convert to cylender mesh

i think there is a loop option on the point cache parameters, before you hit record

@@archviztutorial I didn't find it in the point cache parameters, but the animation is looping if I choose "Ping pong" as proxy animation mode 🙂

I use 2 wind to custom the speed for the leaves and the other one for the branches.
