I have a whole lotta love for the way Patty sang that song! I always thought Patty was so much more interesting than Madonna! I would have encouraged her to front a really good Rock and Roll band or maybe sing with the Eagles.

this is one the very few times, when I see a pro band being so bad and ruining the song for the singer. Yes, it is old and back in them days music was done slightly differently BUT did they not hear that this come no where near close to the original in terms of precision and sound?

Most people don’t know this but EVH offered HER the Van Halen gig after David Lee Roth left. She turned it down because the band was too much into partying at the time. But then Hagar got the next phone call.

I saw this when it first aired. No one knew she had this in her. I sat there watching, absolutely floored by what I was hearing. To this day, it's the best musical performance I've ever seen on TV. I wish I could meet her, just to shake her hand and thank her for this.

I remembered being blown away by this when I watched it on TV back when it aired, & I thought of it & looked it up to see if it was as good as I remembered. Absolutely stellar! Aside from the original, it's the best I've ever heard that song sung.

How’s when the music calmed and Patti sung waaayyy down Inside,, honey you need love. That’s the moment for me. It’s like listening to a Paul Rodgers live when there’s that moment that just takes you to another place. Patti unbelievable Smyth, my gawd girl those pipes 👌 even her speaking voice was sexy. What a little powerhouse and sexy as hell.
