LEGENDS! Man, I didn’t know how cool music was back then. Now I’m 43 and super nostalgic. Sitting here thinking about watching the Opry with my grandparents.

Not to correct the great Roy Clark BUT Bill Monroe also wrote a state song when he penned Blue Moon of Kentucky.

I laughed, I cried, I sang along and tapped my foot. Would have been a once in a lifetime thrill to have been at the Opry that night.

I'm 15 and I study classic country and bluegrass religiously as I play it. Its weird for me to think that this was the last time they all would be together again. If I'm not mistake Roy Acuff died in 1991, Grandpa Jones in 98', I think Minnir Pearl the same year, Bill Monroe in 96. All of them except Loretta Lynn are gone to be with the lord now.

I love it when all the legends get together, these are the Kings and Queens of country music and that definitely includes Kentucky bluegrass!! I believe my Papaw, who was born and raised in Pike County, Kentucky (Elkhorn originally) is up there in Heaven having a good ol' time with Bill and Grandpa and all the greats!! Rest easy, Papaw. ❤️❤️❤️

I'm having my 70th birthday this year and this video reminded me that my mother's drama teacher in High School was the lady who later became the first (and only) female comic in country music, Minnie Pearl.

Patti Page. And amen. So good to know that all these people I was watching as I grew up, were Christian people who were faithful in their professions. As Bob Richards, olympic pole vaulter and pastor once said, "The best is yet to be." And He is closer than ever, right now.

When I was little, I loved The Beatles, Supremes, Dave Clark Five. My Mom loved Mario Lanza and MGM musicals. Daddy loved Johnny Cash, Tammy Wynette, Flatt and Scruggs. I hated country music but Daddy said, "You will like country music when you grow up." I thought he was crazy and emphatically denied it. Without any hesitation, I can tell you I can't get enough of the old-time country music legends now. On a recent drive across country, I spent the night in Hurricane Mills. The lady at breakfast told us that Loretta Lynn was celebrating her 85th birthday and was singing at the Ryman that night. One of my biggest life regrets was not staying over and going to that concert. See all of you "soon...and very soon...we are going to see the King". Thanks Andre.

It's hard to believe that of all the great country legends in this video, Loretta Lynn is the only one left.
