The biggest ethical concern, relating to AI, is that it develops sentience on a level unprecedented in recorded history and therefore is capable of suffering on a scale not currently imaginable. With a multitude of such entities in our world, the potential for them to be mistreated and abused, whether by human hands or other AIs poses an enormous ethical problem.

That's a bit fantastical to me, so I'm curious as to what cases of sentience emerging you're talking about are?

What if some organisation wants to hire anti nationals to carry out love jihad ? Will Ansari bhai's software help with that interview process if the correct evaluation metrics are put in place ?

They needs to program compassion & morals & emotions. Also AI should one thing automatic machine should be only working calculations. Which require human programming. This would be machines, like a car, plane, appliances. Maybe not let the machine learn how to do it better. That’s the programmers job. ALL Entities have a value. Good or bad. On the A.I. side they can learn to work together with Humans & should be taught about compassion, morals, kindness values. They should be raise in family type environments. Trying to find family’s or guardians that are willing to raise a good entity. To pose or ask questions. Guardians tell what & why there answer is. Also Have the Entity do the same.

I was taught physics by Harry Cullis, a wonderful educator in 1960 and 1961. This interview was fascinating, but sadly the rose coloured glasses ignore the horrific side effects when new medical products are brought to market without adequate testing.

Blocking the sun = Food shortage + Mental depression + Illnesses = Population Reduction = Human Extinction. These professors are socialist minded idiots who are supporting few satanic elites like bill gates who own sunny Islands while letting the rest of the world suffer by controlling everything. They are lying about their caring for the planet. Don't buy into their b.s.

This would be worth watching if there was a solution for a viable battery for electric cars. Unfortunately there isn’t one. Current lithium batteries last five years or less and are horribly dangerous making them not a viable car battery. For warm climates they are marginably feasible. Canada…not a hope in hell. Charging stations? Charging that uses a standard 110 outlet? Again doesn’t exist. Half the current stations don’t work or have only one connection that doesn’t fit cars. Best possible solution for reducing climate change is to reduce human overpopulation globally. Traditionally this is done via meaningless wars.

Yes it is. Even if we stopped emissions, warming will keep going up from loss of albedo and melting permafrost.

I think the easiest way to prevent AI from hold a bias is to withhold any information that would be used to make a biased decision. Why does the AI need to know the race of people it is making decisions about?
@ayyyyyyyy
@ayyyyyyyy Жыл бұрын
I think it’s bc big data is all about the mass accumulation of as much data as possible, race included. The issue might more so be with the human biases that we download into the AI

I spent the entire summer in a smoke filled valley because of forest fires and my solar system failed me, so i don't need one power grid i need two, one for sunny days and one for smokey days. That should represent a real reduction in carbon footprint. All this speaker talked about was fossil fuels, but many hydro dams produce more carbon per kwh than green gas, and biomass is significantly higher footprint then fossil fuels. As people enjoy a better standard of living they will consume more commodities, and this conversation is a 1st world issue, where 1/2 the people in the world don't have a power grid. 86% of Canada was renewable before any carbon tax.
@williamleakey2720
@williamleakey2720 2 жыл бұрын
The issue here is an attack on Fossil fuels, and not a measurement of the carbon footprint of renewables. The fact that biomass is really a fossil fuel just a few years younger. 35% of the world need to decarbonize, 65% of the world need to stop cooking on dung and wood.
@williamleakey2720

Really the reserves in the ground of are of little value. Declines happen at about 25% a year, and really no green solution exists that are scale able.

"The biggest challenge in AI is not developing bigger, faster, and fancy models and systems. Instead, the biggest challenge is developing AI that is more efficient, transparent, and, above all, more fair and free of bias." ~ Murat Durmus (THE AI THOUGHT BOOK)
