Banks have concerns. That says it all. If the banks realize they may miss out on a slice of the cake than they will get their FF and FG lackies to speak out against it. An 'affordable house' starting at 250-350k is not affordable especially seen that FF and FG have done nothing to increase wages to match current trends. Building huge rentable estates is not social housing. Stop selling public land to developers. Create a national construction company or give local councils funds to re-employ constructions workers to start building large council estates. Can you imagine that? A construction company paid for by the state building on public land and erecting 200-300 house in one area and renting at affordable council rates and give people life time leases. Instead we FF and FG supporting banks to financially enslave people into crazy 30-40 year mortgages. FF and FG will never support this. Why? Simple.......investigate FF and FG partners/wifes and family members financial holdings and properties in 'their' name and you will see why they want to continue the rent traps.
