I once went to Mallory performance to have my 335d remapped 2 years ago , I had booked my car in and fully expected to have a rolling road tune so i could see what my car produced powerwise between standard and then as remapped. My actual expriencd was that i turned up as booked i had to wait an hour to get my car remapped which cost me around 400 quid, A guy came in took my keys and drove my 3 series into a workshop out of sight i sat waiting with nothing said to me for an hour the guy came back and said along the lines of all 'done mate you will notice more power but will bd a few days of driving for car to learn remap' I was made to feel like that day that i was unimportant and that they could not be bothered, i was in no way treated like a valued customer , im not saying they were rude but just indifferent like i was nothing. Not only this i paid my money and i never even got a print out or a paper receipt or even an emailed receipt . Mallory Performance really put me on a massive downer that day , i was full of excitement expecting a fully informed rolling road experience but ended up with a disappointment, so much so that the remap was later removed by BMW at Sytner because they have seen so many of these supposed BMW custom maps that promise so much but deliver very little. Suffice to say i would never recommend Mallory Performance to anyone.

I got a question. I bought a TT Mk2 2009 with downpipe already and it’s throwing a code for O2 sensor heater contr circuit bank 1 sensor 1. So I replaced for a new one but cheap, right after changing the O2 sensor, the car is running really rough and quite no power. Can someone help me?

Other notable tester and racing car drivers have said the 4 wheel drive system and the huge amount of bracing in the A45 makes the handling excellent - why muck it up. I am sure AMG knew what it was doing.

I have one of these, 67 plate 335D X Drive. The original pads were BMW OEM and I felt they were quite spongey... I replaced front and rear discs and pads and opted for EBC Yellowstuff. My word they don't half squeak a lot and the braking feels a bit better but I still think the brakes are not brilliant in this car. The first few cm of travel in the brake pedal does nothing and even the initial bite after is only "medium" or "Average" at best. You really have to mash your foot down hard to get proper heavy braking. Before anyone says "Get the brake fluid changed" I service my car well (probably too much). It had an oil change 2 months after ownership, in April 2023 it had a full service done, May 2023 the discs and pads were all changed as above and in August 2023 it had a major service (every 2 years or 24,000 miles), the brake fluid has been changed and it's made no difference. If a big brake kit wasn't £3,000+ I'd be opting for that. But for 3k I could literally retrofit heated seats, reverse camera and change the Michelin runflats to standard Michelin PS4's on all four corners and still have 1k change left.

@hamesto6992 Жыл бұрын
Really recommend switching to non-runflats at some point. I just switched last week to regular tyres and it's made a huge difference to comfort - really soaks up all the small bumps and undulations!
@thefiestaguy8831
@thefiestaguy8831 6 ай бұрын
@@hamesto6992 I would do but the problem I find is that a lot of the roads I drive on are utterly appalling. The other issue I have is that often I'm miles from home, so if I did get a puncture sitting at the roadside faffing about with a puncture repair kit is a lot more hassle than just continuing to drive but slowly. I once left the house for work at 6AM, noticed I had a flat rear runflat tyre. I drove to work on it (6 miles), back home again also 6 miles, then to work again the next day AND from work about 5 miles to the tyre garage to have replacements fitted. What standard tyre would get you 23 miles with little to no air in it? I've had standard tyres before and had punctures and every time had to stop within a mile because it's totally deflated. The other issue I have is that I can't afford to just simply lay out £1k in one go for decent summer tyres, and the front and rears seem to wear at different levels so need replacing at different times. If I replaced the RFT's for summer tyres when the fronts were worn I'd still have perhaps 4-5mm of tread left on the rear RFTs.

@juanfranciscourrealeon1295 Thanks for your reply. I did look at this some months back when someone had one fitted to their car - but they stated it didn't really make much of a difference. I'll certainly revisit/reconsider this idea as it's not massively expensive to do.

@juanfranciscourrealeon1295 Ordered some steel brake lines for £69.99 for all 4. Going to get them fitted in the next few weeks as the brakes is not something I do myself.

@juanfranciscourrealeon1295 I have 225 45 R18 on the front and 255 40 R18 on the rear. I want to change them to 19" rims as they look a lot better. I understand as mine is the X Drive variant the system will only accept a tolerance of around 2% in terms of wheel difference. I quite like the BMW 704 rims design but unfortunately they are only available in 19 inch or larger. By the sound of it you changed your tyre rim size also... I'm guessing without any problems?

Tuning off the dyno is a scam, you can't prove the results, and can't verify what you've done to the car is good or optimal.
