Anyone else that pictured Darren Aronofsky in their mind as an old man?

Interesting choice: the 50s-60s Beat Generation drug terms. “Croaker”: doctor. “Skag”: heroin. “Making a croaker for speed” could be right out of Burroughs’ NAKED LUNCH.

THE MAIN CHARACTERS SHOULD ALL WON OSARS 🏆. THIS IS ONE MY FAVORITE MOVIES OF ALL TIME... NO ONE UNDERSTANDS ADDICTION UNLESS THEY GO THROUGH IT... THESE CHARACTERS DID A EXCELLENT JOB I MUST SAY.....

You can actually do drugs without turning out like this. You just gotta find a drug that you can only handle a few days a month. I've liked Adderall for years, but nowadays I can only take it like 3 days a month because I can't handle taking it any more than that. So I have my addiction, but it takes over a very tiny portion of my time. 😁

So Sara was basically taking Adderall?

Many years ago after seeing this film, I was at a red light in NYC. Outside of my car on the curb was the actor who invited Jennifer Connolly to his sex party. He looked right at me. Made me uncomfortable…Not sure of his name. I guess you could say he is a good actor.

Lesson to be learned from this film: never do recreational drugs. Because though they may see enjoyable at first, in the long run, they make you life a living hell

It was also so surprising to see Marlon Wayans in a serious role, i only saw him in comedies, he was so good in that movie, what a sock.

Watched it at highschool about 15 years ago, traumatized me but at the same time fascinated me. I even bought the dvd and just watched it once, makes me feel weird and sad for a few days.

This is one of the cinematic masterpieces of my generation. I've never before nor since seen a film that portrays addiction in such a true and honest fashion, to the point that the film is truly horrifying and disturbing to watch at times. So true to life... This film should be shown in "health" class (or whatever they're calling it these days) -- talking about drugs and the dangers and pitfalls is one thing, but to see it brought to life in all the vividness and terror is this movie is something else. I will never forget the afternoon where a group of my friends watched this... Once the credits rolled we all sat there in silence, awe and shock for a good five minutes before anyone could muster a word.

The fact that Julia Roberts in Erin Brockavich won an Oscar over Ellen Burstyn in Requiem should tell everyone that the Oscars is flawed. Julia Robert's was the more popular actor at the time and it was good publicity for the show itself. If it was about who was the better actor in said role it's not even close. That entire monolog that she gives to her son about waking up in the morning should be shown in all acting schools.
