So Chris, this was posted a while ago, but indeed seems a nice, concise addressing of the subject. I do have a question though (if you know), I am working on my '57 Chevy Bel Air and it seems I do not have the hole... OR those 2 holes (on the 283 at least) are used for the front engine mounts. I'm guessing that perhaps the block didn't change when side engine mounts were done, but not sure. My real question though, if you know, is if the upper front engine bolt is this same bolt you are showing.... seems ill-advised to remove and engine mount bolt (when the engine is mounted in the car)... but I'm curious if anyone has done this. Near as I can tell (very crowed in there when engine installed) there are 2 bolts for the mount, so removing 1 might be OK.... just looking for feedback.

@@JoeSmith-pd6ck as long as you get the engine mount bolts back in and torqued properly I don’t see a problem. You got to take the engine out to work on it sometimes, removing one bolt won’t throw it off alignment or anything.

Thank you for taking the time to respond back to me even though the post is old. So even though every a i you ask or Quora or just google says your method is wrong. States ur method creates a circuit and that causes the light to come on I had faith in you. I rechecked my work and had not noticed that the wires had a cover on them that had to be stripped. They are so small and so clear I couldn’t tell. So I stripped them and guess what happened. Yup no more light. I really appreciate your help. Also goes to you that no matter what people want to think a live human being will always be better than A I or google over all. Thanks for this. I would've piddled around with it for an hour on my 2017 Q7 before figuring it out (yes, the 2016-2019s have the same setup). Had to replace it because the plastic main support with the vanity mirror wire, which is on the other side of the visor, broke in half, as most of them do. As it turns out, my T20 bit on the end of a magnetic driver couldn't get to the screw because of the diameter of the hole, so I ended up breaking the bracket to get to it. I replaced all the Terrible Ts with Phillips head. The biggest flaw with Q7 twin visors is that Audi designed a "trough" into the plastic main support that has the vanity wire mirror. This trough runs completely from side to side and is about ½ the thickness of the already-thin plastic. That's where those plastic supports always break, which means that Audi designed them so that we would have to spend $650+ replacing them. Planned obsolescence. Dirty. In addition, once that breaks, it usually breaks the plastic clip-in section at the back of the support anchored to the roof, which is something you can't easily remove. So you're left with having to secure the entire weight of the twin visor with one screw unless you want to pay an additional $650+.

Amazon claims that this piece "Genuine Audi Accessories 4L0055305U 7-Pin Towing Connector" does not fit a 2015 Audi Q7. This is the same part and the same vehicle as in this video though, correct? I've tried several off brand adapters and the brackets do not line up properly, so securing it into the vehicle is a hassle, requiring attaching a new bracket to secure the Hopkins brand connector. I'd rather pay triple the price for an Audi specific one, I just want to double check the part number and vehicle prior to purchase.

Chris, i have a mini from 2009, and the heater inside the car does not heat up. The fan also keeps running after the car has been switched off, plus it starts running when the car is cold and just on ignition. I replaced the thermostat, and now the heater inside the car works fine again. But now the fan does not start up anymore. I have seen a video where the symptoms i just described show the fan has also gone bad. What do you think? How to test if the fan indeed has gone bad? May it also be possible that by switching around 2 of the connectors to the sensors on the thermostat (the 2 connectors that you can actually switch around), this prevents the fan from starting? Any ideas would be much appreciated.

btw headlights going up and down following the road..... as a Trucker in the Netherlands i am not so fond of this new tech. Because you sometimes think the other person is driving with the high beam on, but they aren't. And so, to warn them about it i often signal them, but it means i am signaling people who did not have their high beam on. Still, their headlights blind me from time to time. On a high way it is not the biggest problem. But a country road where we pass next to eachother, it can be very irritating. Plus blinding. So: To be honest: NOT the best idea.

@ChrisNCars I'm aware of the issue, but I'm not sure how to get it unstuck. I learned that you can remove one of the fuel pump bolts, and there is another on the front of the engine by the fuel pump. You remove that shot bolt and replace it with the longer bolt to hold the pin in place before removing the fuel pump. It's easy taking things apart, but sometimes not so easy to put back together!
@ChrisNCars
@ChrisNCars Ай бұрын
@ the bolt that holds the rod I could see getting stuck but the rod itself? You can try taking the timing chain cover off and getting it from the top or drilling and taping threads into the bottom of the rod? Timing chain you have to drop the oil pan a bit and it’s a pain to reseal without pulling the engine.

Going out in the garage now to fix it! I've been putting it off but almost have everything else fixed on this old 68 bug I've had for three years now. This looks easy peasy. I'm getting ready to change the swing axle boots using a floor jack, jack stands, and a spring plate torsion bar tool. Never have before. Hairy scary. I don't want to get squashed like a bug by a bug. All the other vidz are either on a lift or with the engine out. I heard jack one side, set a jack stand, then jack the hub level and go under the car to replace the boot. No way. That's probably why there are no videos showing it either. Getting in there will be tough but I have to do it. If I had a camera I'd make a video. Excellent video on the speedometer. Just what I needed to start my morning (retired 65 yr old wrench turner).
