I would like to know what mode did you adjust the camera settings to?

I'm actually doing almost the exact things as you do on my vacation to Bali on 2018 with my X100 (the first one). I know almost all of my friends have FOMO and want me to send the photographs from the X100 directly after I photograph them. I hate this situation because I just want to fooling around and dont want to fiddling around with gadgets so I just taped the X100's screen and pretending it's a film camera lol. Then, almost the same as you again, I get a bunch of 1GB SD card, if you choose RAW+JPG, I will got 40 photograph per SD card. But yeah half full of 2GB card will do the same. It's actually quite liberating experience and makes me really selective in a good way.. I only shoot 76 photos on four days of vacation and love ALL of them. Watching this video and read the comment, I'm so happy to see some people get this and love this idea. It's a proof of the concept "less is more" and sadly we are the tiny little minorities on the camera world (and the Leica MD was too expensive for almost all of us lol).

This camera can do both, it has different portrait settings, one for nighttime and one where it makes the bokeh background if I'm not mistaken. My favorite picture so far have been taken both vertical and landscape, which work for both landscapes or taking pictures of people. Hope this helps!

On this camera can you record video and zoom in and out at the same time?
@hoooneeeybeee Жыл бұрын
Don't think so, i got this camera not long ago and tried this and I'm pretty certain it cant zoom while recording. If you want you can change the zoom of it before hitting record but it will stay perminently zoomed in until you stop recording, then you'd be able to adjust it but that'd be useless bc you stopped the recording. So unless you like taking multiple videos with some zoomed in and others not, there isn't much you can do abt that as far as I'm aware, hope this helps!

Loved the ideia, but then do you only use the optical viewfinder? How about no autofocus? I dream of a simple manual digital camera but have no budget for an m -d
@anthonymiller89792 жыл бұрын
Just playing with my "new" Fuji X100T and set it so there is no LCD playback or EVF and I am using the optical viewfinder only so essentially it is like shooting analog although I can still see my settings in the viewfinder ala Nikon F4 style. If I wanted I can even turn off the icon/info overlay in the optical viewfinder so even most my settings are hidden if needed without having to cover the rear LCD.
@chaindrums2 жыл бұрын
how do you know if the focus is correct before taking the shot when using the optical viewfinder?

Yep, you can; just cycle View Mode to Viewfinder Only. I think this hack is useful for breaking the chimping habit, though!

I think I'll try this out on my xpro1 since it's kind of my "digital film" camera and I only use old adapted Minolta lenses on it. I already don't look at the screen, but I think it's worth it just for the aesthetics.

On the first photo, that's why you use subject/background separation. I didn't understand the second one (I'm confused, tbh), but the last one is brilliant and I love it!
@nerdingoutonphotography67983 жыл бұрын
I think that subject separation is great in some situations but doesn't really allow for a lot of layering. Regarding the second one you're talking about the red and white one?
