Yeah, I made that same mistake myself, worrying that Older Cats would hurt Kittens, but, no, DOMESTIC Cats have developed a strong inhibition to harming Kittens because they know that we Humans would be appalled and kick them out of their houses for harming our new Kittens. So, they will HISS, but they will also always be the ones to retreat... Older Cats just don't want to be bothered. But as with Leo the Cat, well, they get Curious and soon they start to Play. Sometimes it takes a while. After Five Years my Nine Year Old Roary is finally getting along with his Little Brother Little Siamese Tommy, who, as a kitten, bothered the Old Man by wanting to play all the time. Now that Little Siamese Tommy is older too, they have more in common.

Thanks for putting this up! I really enjoyed it. We are hunting for our next kitten to adopt, trying to wait for a lynx point siamese-snowshoe, then going to bring him or her into our home with George, our adult lynx point siamese--snowshoe. I'm not worried, as I've introduced many cats over the years.....but it was just a really sweet video/story and I loved watching it. It warmed my heart, and I'm getting so excited to let our newest baby find us!

Little late but honestly you should’ve opened the cage initially to introduce them. Cats hiss almost always when another cat is introduced but not letting them actually interact will only prolong them getting used to one another. Ofc always watch and separate if needed but it’s not likely the older cats will ever actually attack the baby.

My 4 month old Lynx point is still too much for my 5 and 7 year old tabbies .. Lil Star is so full of energy... I know it takes time .

Just a note on introducing cats. Jackson Galaxy recommends introducing them by SCENT first, not by SIGHT. You could have let them swap rooms or swap carriers so they meet through smell first. Intense eye contact and getting too close is what causes hissing upon first meeting. This is how I introduced my male tabby to my female lynx-point siamese, and she was the new cat in the home.

Awe, she looks just like my lynx Siamese Lucy. Lucy is a handful. She was a kitten when I introduced her to my snowshoe Siamese (who was 16 at the time) and they were fast friends from day one but Rocky (the senior) was NEVER aggressive a day in his life. I never heard him his. Never not once. He was very unusual. No prey instinct either. Lucy on the other hand is a killer. Soooo many mice. Lol Rocky Passed of old age a while back. He was 19. Heartbreaking. They broke the mold with him. He was a real gem.

The kitten should have been let out in the laundry room or bathroom and allowed to go potty right after the trip
