Just had my 70th birthday,to me the Wanamaker’s building was major part of my life from the Organ,the light show,the eagle to the ice cream shop in the basement,I bought my boyscout uniforms there,went to the toy store on the 8th floor…the restaurant,the bargain basement and the kids department are all fond memories, I will always remember those moments…

But until then, the housing problem is not going away any time soon, and this has to do with inflation of everything, not just housing. This is an opportunity for local residents to rent out a room in their home to any of the residents who need a place to live. It would benefit both the tenant and the owner of the home financially.

The space will never be used as a single retail store again. If a new use cannot be found that can accommodate the organ, it might have to be rehomed in a new location. This certainly won't be easy due to its size. If a university or city were to build a new concert hall, which could be designed to house the organ as part of the design, that would be ideal. It is so large, it would be difficult to fit into an existing hall. The eagle would work well in the lobby of such a hall. It would be terrible if it ended up abandoned or parted out.
