The 226e is my favorite Lionel engine. When the power is cut while it’s running, it continues to roll until it comes to a stop. The fact that it doesn’t have a smoke unit does not matter. Hold one in your hands, and you will feel its weight and the quality of its build. There is no planned obsolescence here.

@@huntercoleman460 It is, as far as the locomotive and car bodies, Hunter. The mechanical parts were not the same quality as the early postwar stuff. Thanks for always watching and commenting Hunter! ☺️

MPC made some really nice pieces. Quality I believe wasn't quite up to the standards of Lionel Corp in the 50s, but better than a lot of today's stuff.

@@TwistedMacGyversTrains I found that set on eBay quite a while ago. It came with four extra cars that were not included in the original set. It was one of those lucky finds that was listed in the wrong category. When I received it, every piece was wrapped in a never worn, car show tee shirt. It was probably one of my best buys on the bay. 😁

@@johnlazar7582 Oh that’s just incredible John! You definitely got lucky with this set. I did at one point have rules set up for searching eBay for a station set. But I’ve since removed it and gave up. Someday I make it lucky. 👍
