Secretariat’s daughters have produced champion after champion. His best son, Risen Star, won the Preakness and Belmont Stakes. His best daughter on the track was Lady’s Secret….Breeders Cup and eclipse award winner. His best female producers has a long list of champions and stakes winners. Secretariat never reproduced himself but how could he? None of the really great ones ever really reproduced themselves, except for perhaps, Bold Ruler.

Owning copies of all three Sports Illustrated ,Newsweek, and Time in my collection. They are all dated June 11th, 1973, on the covers. The win at the Belmont was on June 9th. I'm sure the stories were being written at the time he was racing in all 3 of the Triple Crown races.

@@jm1657 He’s very healthy and happy at 17 years old. He’s a bay. I ride him on a regular basis mostly out in the desert and barefoot. He’s got real good feet for a thoroughbred. He got hurt his very first race in 2009 and went to a rehab ranch That’s where I found out about him and adopted him when he became available. Thanks for checking on him🤠

Rescue horses are the best. I owned one for 19 years and I don't think I've ever loved an animal so much. My sweet horse gave back all of the love I gave him and more. Sadly, he is gone now, but he lived to be 32+/- years old and after a rough start in life bloomed into a fine trail horse, and later, a wonderful horse to share with the grandchildren. Rescue animals seem to know how fortunate they are when they find a loving forever home. It seems like the people at Vermont Spring Hill Horse Rescue are in it for the love of the horses ... major kudos to them for their efforts. God bless them and the critters they save.

@novantuno3 жыл бұрын
This has been quite a few years ago. He was sometimes turned out with friends, but being an ex-racehorse he was always just pleased to be outside in a pasture munching on grass rather than stuck in a stall on a shedrow. He is now eventing and is regularly turned out with some of his stablemates by his new owner. He also gets to swim in Lake Champlain with his owner. He is living a good life. He was a good racehorse too. He won at both Pimlico and Charlestown and was in the money a total of 17 times. He broke into stakes company only once at Colonial. I've lost count of how many times he was the best horse in a race and just settled for second. He never really developed that killer instinct. Secretariat is his broodmare's sire. His other grandfather is undefeated Danzig.
